League is in a critically bad state right now.

I've been playing since season 1, and I can say without a doubt that this is the most volatile, unbalanced, convoluted mess I've ever seen league of legends be.

I've gone through things like feral flare, spirit of the ancient golem/wraith/lizard, devourer, league of cleavers, stacking sunfire capes, force of nature, stacking warmogs, jax 100% dodge.... I've seen some shit, man. (Thousand yard PTSD stare)

....(snaps out of it)

But those were isolated problems. Those were problems you could play around. Those were things that you came to expect, and could develop an answer strategy for.

Not this. Not now. There are so many goddamn things wrong with this game right now, you just can't plan for all of them. You might be able to tackle one or two things, but that still leaves 3-5 absolutely GLARING problems that you don't have an answer for.

I stopped playing ranked entirely because the game state is just too goddamn volatile right now. I don't know what needs fixing in what order, or when, or how, but god damn...

This game is in fucking trouble right now.

We do, but this is a whole new animal. In previous pre-seasons, the boards would be spammed with one or two issues.

Right now you've got:

  • BE sucks
  • Leveling sucks
  • Yasuo is cancer
  • Zoe is cancer
  • Runes are imbalanced
  • Towers suck
  • The community is more toxic than ever
  • Riot is buffing people that don't need buffs.
  • Riot is nerfing people that don't need nerfs.
  • Riot is re-working people that don't need re-works.
  • Rioters are legitimately arguing like children with people all over the boards over stupid shit.
  • Games are too snowbally
  • Tanks do too much damage
  • Bruisers don't exist
  • ADCs do too much damage
  • Mages not named Xerath or Zoe don't exist
  • 80% of the champion pool isn't even played
  • Champion Mastery is too expensive
  • The client is buggy
  • The minimap is buggy (big blue squares)

Just to name a few things people are complaining about. I'm sure there's more.

There are sweeping issues that majorly impact the enjoyability of the game. Its not just one or two things exclusive to 1 or 2 champions or 1 or 2 roles, or a particular queue or game mode...

Its fucking EVERYTHING.

Its fucking EVERYTHING.

  • BE is fine
  • How so? Leveling honestly is an enjoyable mechanic.
  • How is Yasuo cancer? Just because you hate him doesn't mean he's cancer.
  • Zoe needs a bit more tuning, but she's mostly fine.
  • There are clear better choices in runes, but for the most part none of them are game breaking.
  • This is true, but they have been for quite a long time, so this isn't a new issue
  • Nothing to prove that.
  • Ornn was overbuffed yes, but other than that, who has been overbuffed???
  • Example needed
  • Example DEFINITELY needed
  • Haven't seen this, so I can't argue that.
  • People keep saying this, but it's really not that bad.
  • Because of 1 rune, this is an easy fix.
  • Bruisers still exist, they are less viable, but they aren't unplayable.
  • This is very debatable ( Except for Ezreal, he's a problem like always)
  • Malzahar is still a thing, and there is nothing stopping other mages from being played just as well as those 3.
  • Absolutely untrue.

This is the issue number one for me. Games start at 2, wins at 510, ends at 2530

Since the preseason started I see even more games than before where a team destroy the opponents without losing a single tower. They can die stupidly as many times as they want after they started to snowball, giving them many shutdown, as long as they don't do like 10 stupid mistakes by minute I feel like there is no way to comeback for a team which is behind.

Talking about diamond+ games btw, I have no idea how low elo games go on but high elo games are insanely borings at the moment. Whatever you are ahead or behind you just play 20 minutes while crushing/getting crushed without being able to do anything about it.

Honestly. Over half the games that end up being lost I wish I could surrender, but I can't because it's fucking 6th or 7th minute of the game.

Then, if the team refuses to surrender and they almost always refuse, it's just another 15 minutes of one-sided stomping until the other team stops dicking around and destroys the nexus.

Not the best example. MMOs suffer dramatically from even small stalls or declines, losing as much of a percentage as WoW did is really bad.

It'd been "the truth" since Beta. There has never been a time when the forums haven't claimed that the game is going to hell. If we listened to the boards, we'd believe that the game had been losing players constantly since release. At some point, we have to accept that this place just isn't trustworthy with those types of claims.

my faith in riot goes up and down. they have some really horrid ideas sometimes.. the biggest issue with the game is damage, followed by balance.

they make sweeping changes that may be good for 8 out of 10 champions but a 9th champion gets completely fucked over and they pretend it didn't happened, while a 10th champion because absurdly op because of it.. and they don't nerf said champion.

then there is who whole "yasuo is popular but has a bad winrate" so we are going to buff him. yet there are champion with a MUCH lower winrate across ALL elos that are flat out ignored because riot doesn't give a damn about them

i play a grand total of FIVE champions Nidalee Morgana Lux Blitzcrank Warwick

sure i can play a few more but im not great at them.

but i only play TWO regularly Nidalee and Morgana.

and what does riot do?

they needlessly change morg.. "bring her back into mid lane?" ARE U CRAZY?? she is already amazing at mid lane. i don't PLAY her mid lane because she is BORING in mid lane. you walk up.. you press W you walk back under tower.. there is zero interaction, its NOT FUN and its even WORSE for the enemy. you try to gank a morg? spellshield snare and her saftey to her own turret gets you nowhere. and her snare is so long you would have to be an idiot to dive her.

morg is my main support.

oh and what happened.. you have to bloody freaking HOTFIX her. all the while making her support worse and not even fixing a damn thing. JUST REVERT THE DAMN CHANGE. don't do this "halfway revert" bullshit.

now she only gets a 20% heal just like she used to.. but now it work wont on minions.. thanks riot

then we have nidalee. who was WEAK but still in a viable state, then you remove 5 of her starting AP which YES was op on ap supports i do admit that.. BUT SQUISHY AP JUNGLERS NEED THAT AP, at LEAST for their first clear. also you increased the smite cooldown on first clear. AGAIN this hurts her.

lucky for me i have new ultra-moon the zelda btow expansion and new xenoblade 2 for my switch to play, while i wait for you to fix your damn shit.

also i have been told to "learn to kite jungle monsters better" and yeah i admit.. i cant kite very well.. but guess what.. when i picked nidalee in season 3... she was a top mid and support i didn't need to kite, when i played her during her rework in season 4... she didn't need to kite, when i played her in season 5 AFTER she was thrown into the jungle.. she didnt need to kite, in season 6.. she didn't need to kite... in season 7... she didn't need to kite.

oh but now i should stop playing her because i "cant kite" THAT'S NOT HOW IT FUCKING WORKS!!!

so you're saying i can't play nidalee for the SOLE reason that i cant do her first clear even though im in the top 50 nid's NA mastery wise. because riot arbitrarily made her clear so bad .

NIDALEE IS AN EARLY GAME JUNGLER!!! she NEEDS a early lead in order to NOT be complete trash. she NEEDS to snowball and she NEEDS to end the game before 30 min or else rely on her teammates. which us non-LCS players cant do.

and whats worse is i get all these morons who think "oh well in plat + in Korea she is fine"

and why do i fucking care about that?? i dont play on 8ms ping like Koreans, i don't have superhuman korean reflexes.. and im not plat +

i have been maining nidalee since the FIRST day i started playing. you cant just tell me "i cant play her anymore because i dont have the proper kiting skill we now arbitrarily decided you need to have to play her" THATS BULLSHIT

If you can't follow a simple discussion, I don't know what to tell you. I've literally never changed who I'm talking about. Been talking about the same person the whole time. I've reviewed this conversation from start to finish and I cannot for the life of me fathom how you could be confused right now. The comment thread literally displays who the originating poster was. If you put any effort into this at all, you could easily figure it out.

If you don't want to put in that effort, neither do I.

I either don't believe that you have been playing since Season 1 or you just suffer from looking back at the past with rose colored glasses. For at least the first 3 seasons LoL was a rollercoaster with way more of everything that people are complaining about now.

Last season boards were flooded with posts about how League was stagnant and boring and going to die, now it's flooded with posts about how it's not boring enough and it's going to die.

You can't say something like this without providing any of the problems you're complaining about, all you're saying is "the game is bad" which has absolutely no merit, seeing as the game has 27 million daily players and 67 million monthly just isn't true. Elaborate or your opinion is meaningless.

Everyone is broken and does too much damage, turrets mean nothing, first blood on adc = first tower, first dragon, mid tower, probably top tower, probably gg. Need to shop? Cool. You can visit our store for one easy payment of first tower blood.
