How about a Skirmisher Class Update?

Fiora Yasuo MasterYi Tryndamere ( and probablyCamille )

First there's the fact that all of these champions have big balance issues of their own that could all be addressed at the same time if you would put out a class update for them instead of leaving it all to the balance team, which is unable to make major changes to address their problems and has loads of other things that they have to deal with on their own.

Then there's the problem that they have to rely on items from other classes to work properly, they have to build a mix of tank, fighter and marksman items and don't have specific items that cater to their needs like for example assassins have with their shiny new lethality items.

And lastly, and this is extremely speculative, I think they have an opportunity to finally break the boring and stale support + marksman combination that you see in the botlane every game. I know, the last time Riot has tried this the Mordekaiser rework happened but I think if they're careful enough with it, skirmishers in the botlane could create a similar dynamic to how melee vs. ranged matchups in the toplane and in the mid lane work. If it's possible there, why wouldn't it be possible in the botlane?

A Vanguard/Warden update has already been mildly teased by Riot to be the mid-season update and I agree that they have priority because their item situation is even worse than the one skirmishers have but I'd really look forward to seeing a skirmisher update in the next preseason.

Aatrox people say that he's a diver, yet he has no burst and uses a lot his basic attack Jax needs an udpate to stop being a troll pick MasterYi someone gives him utility ffs, even tryndamere has an AOE AD debuff Yasuo doesn't need anything, mages QQ about him but most juggernaut or melee beat him in all stage of the game Tryndamere jesus of RNG needs to be removed and transformed into someone who actually teamfights Riven doesn't need anything Fiora same

If you want skirmishers to be played bot, you have to wait 2025 because riot isn't changing anything about botlane. yet.

{quoted} I know, the last time Riot has tried this the Mordekaiser rework

and failed, and will fail if they continue to put mechanics dedicated to a lane Morde would have been an excelent botlaner without the xp passive just with his release W (overlapping damage with an ally)

camille is a mistake diver so she's probably just gonna be Triforce + full tank; her base damages are high enough that she doesn't need that much.

the problem here is that Skirmishers are way more varied in what they itemize for than a lot of other classes. Tryndamere and Yasuo are the only ones that actually build crit; Tryndamere's ult keeps him going full glass cannon and Yasuo builds defense to make up for his lacking DPS.

Yi and Jax work best with on-hits and have only been good in recent years as bruisers. Jax has the option to build hybrid but it's generally not as good.

Fiora builds pretty much flat AD to scale her passive, and tank items to not explode.

And lastly, and this is extremely speculative, I think they have an opportunity to finally break the boring and stale support + marksman combination that you see in the botlane every game

Never going to happen with how Riot currently designs the game. Melee carries are extreme damage with low utility; they have no tools to deal with ranged champions early and only function late game with their gapclosers and ability to instantly delete them. The only real way to give them any way to exist against ranged ADCs (who need a second rework anyway) is to give them ranged tools of their own, like stuns, to give them strong healing for themselves and supports (which why wouldn't thye just go top lane to avoid the poke altogether), or to nerf ranged ADs to the point where they're even weaker in lane.

My personal opinion of who is a Skirmisher, or at least should be one.

Aatrox (should be one) Jax MasterYi Yasuo Fiora Kled (should be one, his kit is a failure for more reasons than that though) Tryndamere Riven

Yi actually scales with crit, his Q can crit for a burst damage on a squishy Yasuo Tryndamere builds crit and glass canon because they have a kit that allows them, tryndamere will deal damage for 5 seconds that is sure, and yasuo has his windwall and passive

Yi can't go full glass canon because his W makes him unable to attack, and it can be stopped by a cc. Jax can go hybrid but again his defense isn't as good as the other, his ulti is vulnerable to penetration, and his E only makes him invulnerable to AA

Yi has been an on-hit champion since Feral Flare. Crit Yi takes too long to become useful and explodes far too easily, on top of being much worse vs tanks.

Yasuo doesn't build glass cannon anymore; he has at least item 3022 for health and generally gets quite tanky to my understanding.

Not really, i've seen yasuo players not building frozen mallet, and in my opinion it's so trash

i played darius against a yasuo and got outplayed by him and died when he built phantom dancer his mistake was to build frozen mallet which reduced his damage by a billion of time, and then tried to 1v1 me while i had item 3078 +item 3053

I'll have to agree with Big Lincoln on Yi, especially with all the indirect buffs on-hit Yi is receiving over the last few patches I think that it's his best option currently.
