I've begun to loathe new Taric because of what others expect of him.

I want to try out new Taric. Actually try him out. The problem is every time I do, I encounter the same dumbass of an ADC.

The guy who tries to tank literally every hit and divebomb every enemy champion that comes into range.

The idiot who tower dives at level 1, expecting me and my rapid heals and ults to save him.

The dumbass who blames me for all of his deaths because he thinks Taric is some instant win button all of a sudden and treats it that way.

This is in the same vein as the support maltreatment. It's expecting the support to carry you and protect you from your own idiocy, even as you feed the enemy 8 times before level 4 because of some idiotic delusion that because Taric is right there, you could 1v5 the entire enemy team no matter the level or gold gap because he can make you invincible. I end up burning more mana trying to save suicidal allies with a death wish, and I can expect endless screaming, profanity, an active AFK and a four-man report if I don't.

The community is trying desperately to systematically destroy whatever remains of the support role. It's impossible enough trying to support spoiled little shits who expect level 1 pentakills forever, who give up almost immediately once someone, ANYONE, gets even the absolutely minuscule tiniest implication of a lead. And I'm expected to continue their delusional power fantasy, and not have reality come crashing down on support them, as in spoon feed them kills by the dozen, all on a microscopic budget, and god help me if I get even so much as an assist. My job is already exhausting enough. I don't need entitled ADCs ruining my experience with new champions just to stave off their soul crushing depression for another five seconds.

The op is talking about a problem he felt he experienced with one champ... idk why these comments, which have nothing to do with the champ.

Taric is pretty good but my issue with him is kind of the opposite. I engage and link up with the most eligable bachelor and nothing... I get a lot of... oh sorry didn't know you can do that... sorry not used to that. Making people invincible in team fights and they use it to run away with high health and mana. And sometimes it seems like they are just sabotaging my efforts to stun by backing up right before it lands from their side.

All that said, I am pretty sure my issue and yours op, are symptoms of taric being completly different and people not bothering to read up on what he does... or doesn't do.

Playing with Taric means you have to trust him.

Here's how one of my Gold ranked games went this week:

Vayne "Taric ult OP" - [charges into the enemy team 1v5]

(2.4 seconds later )

Vayne HAS BEEN SLAIN

Vayne "why no ult?? I was waiting for ult"

Taric (Me) "..."

dw I expect very little from rework Taric players

helps to keep me from being inevitably disappointed

Most of them are pretty bad. They see a good taric dominate and give him a try when they don't know how to play him or play support

had a first time support ( no support games at all in ranked) playing taric last night

Promo games are going to be the death of me

i play support occasionally but never have any of the problems you mention. adc's barely flame me for their mistakes and mostly apoligies and say my bad srry leo. they never dive unless i initiate and if i ping back they mostly go back. but i communicate early with my adc. when the game start i always say (name of the adc) pls let me engage, i will ping the person i will engage a sec before i go in. and it works for me

(edit: might also be because of leageu difference and different part of the world.)

Sorry. I haven't ever seen anyone do that, and if my sup was oom or his CDs are blown then YES, it's okay if I die. I'm not gonna report you.

The answer to this is 2 jg 5man premeds though.

I know the pain.

I especially love when you go back for whatever reason and they havent realized you are the one keeping them alive and so go 2v1 into the enemy under their turret and die ^_^

And then you get blamed for backing.

OP, as a former support main who's currently trying to get into playing some ADC for the sake of pressing fill and not being completely screwed on the minimal chance I get that role, please understand that it goes two ways. As an ADC, sometimes your support goes and does a thing that they expect you to instantly follow up on with no warning. "I'm gonna flash/thresh hook someone who's a screen away from my ADC Twitch and expect him to six stack expunge instantly."

If your lane partner or jungler goes and does a dumb thing, don't try to save them. Try to play properly safe, farm, fight if it's even/in your favor, and then get back to your lane pattern. Until your teammate feeds hard enough you can't come back, playing for yourself is going to be optimal.

I love new taric, but can't wait till he gets nerfed some, for several reasons

After playing to rank 5 Taric I feel when I play everything I'm doing with Taric could be done more safely, and more effectively as bard.

Not sure why he's being nerfed.

New Taric brings a lot of power with him. As I've discovered, his passive DOUBLES his current attack speed, making purchases like Wit's End or Titanic Hydra very effective on him. He also scales armor like nobody's business, easily obtaining 200+ armor before level 10 with only a handful of half-complete items. His dueling power is much more effective this time around, especially once you invest in some mana items to counteract his insane mana consumption if you're duking it out with the enemy in melee (Iceborne and Frozen Heart alone give him quite literally everything he needs to duel), and his passive is only dependent on the cooldowns of your skills (in turn reduced by his passive), not an independent timer like the Meeps.

He packs a lot of power, but the problem I'm finding right now is trying to stop the ADC from trying to force all that power out long before it's even available to you, invalidating his mid to late game viability.

Taric is a more delayed, but more powerful, take on elements present in Sona and Bard's kits, in all honesty, with a little personal flair in there.

pretty much sums up why i stopped playing support.

Used to play it alot 40% sup 30% top 20% mid 10% jungling

now its just 60% top 40% mid

kinda had it with entitled feeding laners and shithead adc's

a four-man report if I don't.

Remember, number of reports in a game don't matter! Rito confirmed recently, just in case.

So yeah, don't worry too much about it.

Sounds like every support who can't just mash a button for a free kill.

So in the end those kind of supports are favored anyways because of how stupid many ADC (and support) players are.
