Came back to the game after a year, holy cow

The game is more toxic than ever, i've played 10+ games today and i honestly can't tell if there was one game where one of the teams (usually mine) didn't have an afker, rage quitter, flamer, inter, troller etc.

I have at least 2000 hours playing this game and have played it since season 1 i really can't tell you how glad i am that i've played league during that period cause honestly now it's straight unplayable.

Also its not only people's fault, if i go into a game even if its normal, there should be no way in hell that the matchmaking system pairs me up with a lvl 25 account that is obviously either a really new player or someone's troll only account where they will intentionally flame, feed and ruin other people's games until they get banned and then start all over again.

Riot seriously needs to rework their matchmaking + punishment system, is it that hard to implement a system where players are paired up according to their honor level, account level and mmr as opposed to only mmr?

Here is my average 3 hours on LoL.

No queue accept. No queue accept. Dodge. Dodge. No queue accept. Dodge. Random 7 minute queue that I have to cancel. Dodge. Get a game. /remake. No queue accept. No queue accept. Dodge. No queue accept. Dodge. Stomp a game. No queue accept. Dodge. No queue accept. Dodge. "Give me mid or I int." Guy buys mobis and runs down lane for 20 minutes. Refuse to ff. Lose at 28 regardless. No queue accept. No queue accept. Dodge Dodge Client crash. No queue accept. Dodge No queue accept. Have a normal unremarkable game that drags on too long because people keep backing instead of ending. No queue accept. Dodge Dodge. Dodge. /remake. Back to back games holy shit. Enemy team has an afk. They ff at 20.

Yep. Totally had a lot of fun.

It was since S3-upwards always this way, but since you took a break you aren't used to it that much anymore.

its not that it's more toxic than ever. It just feels like that after not being in the community.

gamefaceEXTREME7/3/2019, 9:58:07 AM3 votes

Probably because everyone's main is banned for saying "you're bad" unless they're a streamer or haven't been playing this game long.

Hard ? No. Would it make the queue time insanely high for no reason ? Yes.

Account level doesnt make any sens, most smurfs are low level, and I've got friends whith 50 more levels than me who are silver players. Repeat after me, level doesnt mean anything.

Now the problem with honor level is : first riot does not want to create a prisoner island, they already told it multiple times, another problem is when you start or do not play a lot your honor level is low, so you'd have to play with the toxic people just because you have not up your honor level yet ?

Another problem is : toxic people are more likely to report than to honor teammates, so once you are at the bottom of honor level there would be months of play before you rises again to a correct level.

Doing this would also mean you aknowledge a part of your community is toxic and that you're fine with that as long as they play together, that's not the case, every toxic player should be banned. That's what they should focus their efforts on.

A year ago was the bot lane update, you are saying it was worse than that?

You're definitely right.

But they won't improve anything: the people "working" on this game are the same from 2 years ago, and the game has just got worse and worse. This huge incompetence cannot bring any improvement (I mean, actual improvements).

I came back from a 2 year break a couple months ago, and tbh it's the same amount of toxic as before.

Yes...adding items to matchmaking becomes a cardinality problem.

MrHaZeYo7/3/2019, 4:35:28 AM2 votes

~2k games in 9 years? Your normal MMR is prolly just messed up if you're playing with low levels.

Just ignore the toxic people. If someone leaves use the rest of that time (whether its till defeat or surrender) and push your champion a bit harder so you start to get the mechanics back. Ya it sucks, I get it, but make use of the time.

Season 1-3 were the glory days of League. So glad to see someone else from that era talk about it.

I stopped playing A LOT since season 3, but I did play at least 50-100 games during season 4-5-6. Season 6 was the big tipping point for LoL, everyone cared too much about MMR and started to justify being a toxic asshole instead of simply not being one. Got nothing good to say? Why say it? Keep your mouth shut. Good rule of thumb irl too. Don't make enemies for no fucking reason. It's how you limit yourself in opportunities, but clearly people don't know this.

Doesn't help that people talk about trolls that "disco nunu mid" and endorse them, giving them attention and spreading trolling, acting like it's funny. Post a video about it and gets ton of views? Now people do it.

Nail in the coffin was Tyler1. Riot took too long to ban him and he got a following by being toxic, and went off to spread his toxicity in other games like SMITE, and get even more followers, even from people from the games he ruined, because it's "Funny". Yeah, it's really funny that he's a large part on why gaming in general sucks now. So glad Riot endorsed him and everyone loves him and constantly makes memes about him and how funny he is. So glad he is the model for LoL. But most people don't understand this, as understanding psychological impacts is hard for people.

Never had an issue before. This game is just so shit in my opinion. No strategy for late game. It's the same 2-3 item builds. You can't do builds that go online at 5-6 items anymore. You need to build your core 1-3 items in order or your champion falls apart due to the explosive nature of the game.

It is amazing how I was stuck in plat 1 for 6+ promos and after I climbed out of it I went to diamond 1 without failing a single promo and won easily the games required to enter them. Now Diamond 1 is the same story with plat 1 where people have the biggest god complex and think everything revolves around them and grief/give up 24/7. These people are these Division 1 to new tier rankings are the worst. And I get master-challenger players in my games and it's the same shit. No wonder people smurf. Because of shit like this on top of DODGE DODGE DODGE DODGE INSTA LOSS because people manipulate the match making by dodging and there isn't high enough of a penalty for serial dodging.

I'm convinced that we are just 1 of an infinite number of universes, and this universe is the universe where everything is loony town in terms of logic.

TheBrothersGrymm7/5/2019, 2:47:20 AM1 votes

the matchmaking is BS, im only gold 4 yet i only play vs plats and diamonds in my normal games, usually just get wrecked, so idk how to fix it, lose games? idk its just no fun and TFT aint fun, and my que times are usually like 7+ mins since TFT dropped

Most of what people are saying... about adding bad queue times needlessly is true...

However... I really honestly think that for RANKED itself.. the level requirement needs to be considerably Higher.

I also feel that the number of champs you own should be a little higher too.. and you it would be really helpful if that system measured how many champs you have at Mastery 5.

I really feel like you should only be able to play ranked with Mastery 5 champs.

There is no reason someone should be able to make a fresh account, spend $20 in RP and two weeks later be queuing up for Ranked at level 30.

That leaves little time to learn the mechanics of one role.. much less the amount you need to be successful..

Just creates liabilities.

I also think there needs to be a positional mastery... I.E.. a measure of a players mastery in each role. They had the individual ranks for each position but riot didn't like the system when it went live... because people were playing their off positions to splash LP into their main positions until they were in promos (I got back to Iron 1 doing this before it scrapped)

Imagine if ranked requirements were as follows:

Level 90 Account

(Not really asking for much here.. just another month or so of playing...honestly.. I personally feel it should be higher)

20 25 Champions @ Mastery 5

_ (That gives the strategic player at least 4 choices per role for players that want to "fill" and plenty of back ups for specialists)_

EDIT IN: I forgot to account for banning with 20... 25 would insure you could have 5 for each role and give a little bit of a buffer from having your entire roster for that position getting banned (Unlikely, but has happened to me before on rare occasions).

IF IMPLEMENTED:** Positional Mastery 5 to Queue for that Role**

_ (This would mean the player has the experience to play that role and isn't queuing up for ranked with no clue about the basics... players could queue up after having three roles at Master 5, one of which HAS to be SUPP.. players that don't have the mastery for off roles would have to just deal with queue timer penalties as incentive to master those other roles... however.. if a player doesn't want to.. that's their choice, and they won't ever get filled in those roles.)_

Just these changes alone would create a more experienced player pool. Everyone would be going in on even footing.

Those changes above are reasonable and easily added in...However... I really wish there was a way to get matched up with players that Warded/Pinged (appropriately) as much as you did.

I can't stand having the highest vision score on the team... especially if I'm not the support or jungle... (I'm talking instances where I've got a vision score of say 45 and the rest of the team has 10 combined at best....30 minutes into the game.)
