Wtf is up with normals MMR?

The Godkarther··9 votes·7,329 views

Why am I getting 1-2 plats in each game I play normals, a week back I was getting like a gold per game but now it's getting to the point where sometimes there'll be a non premade diamond player in my game. Why is this happening?

Educated guess?

Fewer new players and more leaving.

Rito spreading out the algorithm to keep que times down.

They seem determined to keep the game going on it's current path evwn if they kill it to do so.

It's a shame because by doing this I think they'll just drive away more players. New players wanting to join the game will just feel that they're terrible because they're being queued vs people who have 3 years experience on them.

Fewer new players is a blatant issue in OCE, 10-15min queue times for blind pick @ level 14

Normals mmr is based on normals mmr. Lol. A players rank has 0 to do with their normal mmr.

I could say the same about new players. Why I am getting matched with lvl 20-30 players while I am lvl 140? I just hate playing against new players, it's no fun for both sides. Why can't I get players with level above 100?

It's probably like that because I play ranked very rarely, since every time I do play ranked I have the most miserable experience ever.

Smurfs end up with high level players pretty quick. I have a lot of alt accounts and around level 10 when you've unlocked all your summoners and rune pages, it starts to lump you back in with players on their mains instead of just other smurfs plus maybe a new player every ~5 games.

So the level 23 that locks in a meta pick with 0 mastery is usually a Smurf account.

I understand this. It's annoying both way rounds. Last round I was with someone in your position, got flamed for being bad when they were a diamond 4.

Your MMR went up and their MMR was low to begin with.

Normal MMR and ranked MMR tend to be inversely proportional. People who are high in one tend to be low in the other, because they play the other queue far less.

Maybe your Elo went up

Maybe your Elo went up

Definitely not. Because of this BS my games have been extremely bad recently.

I'm plat mmr soloQ, but really couldn't be more than gold mmr in norms. Just recently went against a MASTERS player top lane. I know there's not exactly going to be enough master plauers to fill out a regular que, but jesus christ

Then the masters player, likely, isn't more than "gold mmr" in norms.

I got paired with a Diamond player in norms, I was duo with my friend in gold and I am unranked, (the one time I did play ranked I got Silver so I would say my skill level would probably be mid Bronze to mid Silver.) So yeah the mmr in norms can be quite... well... inaccurate.
