Gives him a seemingly small buff because target has to have high hp for it to matter

Makes health stacking control the meta (titanic hydra/juggernauts).

Well played, Riot, well played.

So, kick the attacking Sion back, and nuke the enemy back line?

NineTailedMystic3 votes

Dunno if it's possible anymore with the Cinderhulk +% bonus HP nerf, but kicking a 3000 bonus HP Sion will deal an additional 630 bonus physical damage.

good luck finding any tank with 3k bonus hp

Vistha Kai2 votes

Because it's so hard to reach 3000 bonus health on a tank Sion.

Captain Aishi3 votes

3k bonus health on sion puts him at 4784 hp... which is not uncommon for a Sion to reach in the late game indeed

I GANK LANES1 votes

that's 1 champ

Captain Aishi1 votes

renekton with his ult giving him 800 bonus can reach 3k bonus easily, so can chogath with his 900 from his ult, zac and volibear often reach very high hp counts, anyone ulted by a lulu... it's not everygame that it happens, but it's not necessarily a rare occurence either

I GANK LANES1 votes

those circumstances are ridiculous, especially considering you actually have to kick that specific target into the the carries.

Lee didnt see a positive winrate for, how long, 2 years? Its more his ability to deny weak early junglers

It doesnt matter if its not doing well what matters is their silver and bronze perception. There are more complaints about champions with less than 50% winrates than there are ones who are legitimately broken. Lee getting a small buff isnt surprising when every devourer jungler just shits on him.

Eh, in fairness, lee worked better at the upper tiers (dia1+/ranked 5s), but ye, low elo circlejerk is real

Lee counters devourer lol.

Lee counters devourer lol.

Every single one of them has a higher winrate than him. like 4% and higher. Lee is also in a quarter of games played. If he was countering them I think he would be winning more than at least one.

Because they are easy to play while Lee Sin isn't. Stop focusing solely on win rate.

I dont think you realise how counterpicks in the jungle work.

I GANK LANES1 votes

what?

My Waifu Vanilla1 votes

Lee, Nid, Reksai, Gragas, and Elise all wreck Devourer Junglers because they get free reign to do whatever they want for 15 minutes which can mean winning every lane for their team since every gank is an almost guarenteed 2v1 or 3v2 or in the case of Elise, Nid, and Lee they can just counterjungle and destroy Kayle and Yi before they even have a chance to get Sated due to their very poor and punishable early clears.

I GANK LANES1 votes

i was talking too general, some devourer junglers shit on him though. but yeah kayle and yi i agree with you

A Miss Fortune2 votes

A low elo Lee Sin is hilarious. He usually just flashes into the enemy team and dies immediately trying to be mlg and kick the enemy carry into his team.

AtheosisX2 votes

Lee counters farm junglers pretty hard, so the notion that he gets "shit on" by Devourer junglers is pretty hilarious. Maybe he does if he just lets them farm without counterjungling them or if he doesn't gank early and start snowballing his lanes while the Devourer jungler is AFK farming.

MistaMac1 votes

so... why did they slapped the "% bonus health damage" on his ult? definitely not to counter devourer

BluePolarizer1 votes

pretty much not to counter devourer. pretty much to counter tanks only.

what devourer champ besides shyvana builds HP lol?

Yea, when are we gonna nerf the real monster on the Rift?

Heimerdinger has been sitting in the top 10 win rates forever. Yet somehow he dodges the nerf blasts every patch.

My Waifu Vanilla1 votes

Pick rate is also really low which means the only people really playing Heimer are those that know how to play him and thus will have a high win rate.

Shroom Junkie4 votes

Wtf why does everyone talk about Lee's "buffs"? They gave him more damage to tanks if he hits them with the original target(as in, it doesn't deal the extra damage to the original target). Basically for flashy plays enticing you to ward hop behind a squishy and ult them into your team hitting tanks along the way, but its really not even a buff. Then he has a barely-buff passive update that just lets him get energy back a wee bit quicker.

Can we shut up about Lee? I get some other champs but Lee barely got buffed... q.q

Drunken Yasuo25 votes

it is a shame that he even got buffed.

Not gonna say he needed a buff but its super small, barely noticeable, why the hell is everyone making such a big deal out of it? Riot adds %BonusHealthDamage to targets hit and then everyone loses their minds.

  1. Shitty mechanic in the first place
  2. On an already hugely overloaded champion
  3. Made his kit even more TL;DR
  4. Completely unnecessary buff, it's the principle of it.
IcyPepper14 votes

Problem is that its damage is reliant on the target kicked, not every individual hit. It punishes proper positioning, and having a tank on your team. If it just dealt individual %hp bonus hp, it would deal relatively the same damage to squishies and just a bit more to tanks (which is okay, since they'll be able to take it).

Joquan1 votes

If you ask me it relies more on Improper positioning due to you having to be lined up, at the right angle with your tank.

It's like being grouped when facing champs like ziggs or malphite, where you have to take your fights in lanes or be screwed over

Ulquiorra9952 votes

So... Standing behind your tank is "improper positioning" now? Especially with Lee in the picture, because if you take one Q you are flying back into the opposing team.

This is basically a win-win situation for Lee. If he can get to carries, they ged Insec'd. If he can't, he'll just use their tank for a 1000+ damage nuke.

Joquan1 votes

According to the new buffs, yes it is. It is now an addition to a mechanic that you should have been doing ever since lee came out, which was not being directly behind your tank.

Also Lee can be stopped during his Q, not like him landing Q= auto lose, Hi maokai, naut and thresh!

I understand having to play differently is very annoying but as I mentioned with previous examples ( ziggs and malphite) it is nothing new.

If you are gonna talk about something make sure you know what you're talking about

The way the buff works is Lee sin does more damage based on the ulted person. Lee kicks a tank into a squishy and does damage to the squishy based on the tanks health. Not the tank takes damage bases on the squishies

Ah, yes, I just re-read it and noticed it said the target's bonus health, not the ones hit... putting that together, yeah, I guess it is a pretty huge buff. If Lee hit a tank with full-build at rank 3 of ult it would do roughly 800-ish damage so yeah, its a pretty big buff. Sorry for getting that wrong but, let's be honest, Riot worded that really badly...

Caeler4 votes

To be fair he was hovering around 46.3% win rate for a couple of patches according to champion.gg, which is pretty low. As of this patch it has actually decreased to 44.92% so far despite the fact that he got buffed, though that could be in part due to his increased play rate.

As of the time of this comment (stats from op.gg, filtered for last 7 days and ranked solo): All - 45.21% win rate - 93,745 games. Plat - 45.58% win rate - 18,176 games. Diamond - 47.74% win rate, 6,196 games. Master - 55.19% win rate, 270 games.

Note that the win rate for Master is the only place where his win rate passes 50%, and that the sample size is very small and therefore not very accurate. Filtering instead by last month shows that he has a 51.66% win rate over 962 games in Master. We'll be able to access more accurate data as time goes on but this is about the extent of what we can use at the moment.

I know that the Boards don't like Lee because of how long he has been a dominant pick, but come on. He needed some buffs.

BluePolarizer1 votes

He should've gotten his attack slow back instead of having a 45 sec CD, 1K damage AOE CC nuke.

Caeler1 votes

I agree that he didn't need anymore power into his ult, but he did need some sort of buff. The attack speed slow, however, would be far stronger than the ult buff as it is far less situational and greatly improves his early game. I probably would've buffed his shield's amount or lowered its cooldown ever so slightly. He certainly doesn't need more damage. The main problem is that it's a little bit hard to buff him without making him overpowered because of his kit. Readding the attack speed slow, for example, would just cause him to dominate early game even harder while also giving him more late game power. Changing the shield on the other hand, which is usually maxed last, would have little effect on his early game while making him somewhat more durable in the late game.

Kalarepa3 votes

Honestly, I'm so tired of Lee Sin's plays that Idk what would he have to do to impress me. Pentakill with 1 kick or something.

TurquoiseYoshi3 votes

I'm starting to think this guy is the king of circlejerks. Whenever I see a post of his, it seems to be mostly angry QQ stuff about things that would obviously get a kajillion upvotes.

Also, Kalista nerfs before Worlds. Your move.

InsaneSamurai3 votes

Yeah Riot has a few favorites that they never let fall off for too long including the ever annoying Lee, but they aren't only flashy champs, Shyvana and Karma are favored too(or does shy count as flashy because she turns into a dragon every minute?). Riot is never happy unless they are over the line. Or Zed, who they seem to believe shouldn't have counterplay if he didn't pick first. It's not entirely flashiness that protects them either, because they don't seem to give the same protection to Yasuo. I think it makes more sense that there are a few people with pull in the balance team who are playing favorites and have been for some time.

SteelStallion3 votes

Yea, and they're nerfing Fizz and Kalista , and they're buffing Karma

This pattern you're trying to fish for upvotes with doesn't exist. I'm kind of bored of hearing this nonsense opinion constantly regurgitated on the forums.

Lee Sin is actually garbage and these circle jerks need to stop. Stop playing Lee Sin, he's fucking terrible and so are you. He has the lowest winrate of all junglers all the way up through Diamond for a reason. Complain about something that's actually too strong like Ahri, Annie, Talon, Skarner, Garen, Fiora, Xin Zhao etc.

stealthfox941 votes

I honestly don't understand why people hate Lee Sin. Same with Zed always thought he was one of the more balanced assassins. Don't play either champ btw.

Depóngo1 votes

Oh, please. If that was the case he and the flashy champs would've always been the dominant and that's not true.
