@Riot - The Balance is All Over The Place and Game is Not Fun

The game is just not fun anymore. The balance and patches just keeps getting worse. There is just so many things wrong with this game and you are not addressing it. The balance issues starting going down hill since the runes update. I think typical players have learned and adapted to past balance and game issues. The community has been very understanding in the past. A thing like Karma receiving a botched VGU or Morde having his identity ruined pales in comparison to a champion with an outdated kit being overbuffed or an entire class of champions being relevant in one role . . . while another class is completely useless.

  1. Mage Junglers still feel incredibly useless in the JG. Accept for Evelynn who I think will always be on the top because of her element of surprise, the top 10 junglers right now are all early game junglers who have great clear speeds. You are aware that early game JGlers are snowballing lanes and are the real problem in the JG, but you do nothing to make other types of junglers better. Honestly, do you think the Ruinic Echo changes made AP jungelrs better? It did nothing.

  2. Same champions get worked on for months, not enough is being done on champions that need it, specific champions continue to wait years on end for work, a champion only gets work done on them when a skin is coming out for them. If your champion is getting a buff it is most likely because he or she is getting a skin.

  3. The honor system is a legit joke. You implemented this system for honest and good players to feel like they make a difference with their behavior. It doesn't do anything to show progress and punishments are extremely harsh. It apparently takes over 300 hundred games to get into another bracket or honor or a checkpoint. The system doesn't feel like it is doing anything other than making it seem like a person who is really trying to change and do a good job with their behavior, will not be rewarded for that behavior . . . . because it takes so long. It feels like it takes so long and it doesn't show me with a progression bar or any indication of where my level is currently at. It's a missed opportunity really.

  4. Game damage is still too high and runes are a contributing factor. One class of champions is always more relevant in the game than another. Now we will have a meta where melee and assassin champions will be OP, but ADC will still be powerful because of true damage. Can the game just for one season be somewhat balanced and not feel like one role is completely useless because of the champion pool and itemization?

  5. Certain champions just have toxic kits and the answer is always buff them instead of removing what makes them toxic. I mean I am waiting for the Yasuo buff. The buffs to champions like Nunu, Nocturne, Mundo, Karma, and more never should have happened if you know they need a complete rework or VGU. Why are you overbuffing their kit numbers?

  6. The game is just changing too much and too frequently. This year it is very visible that there are things that are completely usless and there are things that are inherently strong. What are you doing about it? Changing everything around the beginning, in-between, the middle, and in between the middle of season and end, and end of season. Things like changing out last hitting works, tower health still not being addressed, dragon and baron damage/health, and the constant overbuffing of itemization and no nerfs.

Players are tired of it all.

For a game and company that makes so much money and is such a powerful presence in the game company, it is taking you way to long to make things happen and you are still making the same mistakes to this day. You are becoming too big for your bridges and you just do not have the man power and time to keep up with this game anymore. You need more staff and content needs to be updated and released in a more timely manner than 4 to 8 weeks. I don't to wait for an annoying change that takes 4 weeks to be nerfed because you want Nocturne mains to feel special. You want to know what would be great? If you hired more people to get to his rightfully deserved VGU. You know what needs to happen in this game but you are too cheap to make it happen and do what you need to do. It is not unreasonable to make a mistake. It is unreasonable to make the same mistake and not adapt with it. The game is suffering and not moving forward. It feels like nothing is being addressed and in a timely manner.

If it wouldn't be for bot lane we all would've been happy. I'm just having item 3504 flashbacks right now with shield supports being the best. Low risk high reward. Then there's top lane. An nonexistent lane. It doesn't matter if you lose or win lane if your bot lane lost lane you lost the game. I hope that the ADC changes on PBE fix something, but they still look like more of a buff to me. Tanks won't be able to tank because of the % max hp true dmg. I can't say too much about this since it hasn't come out in Live yet so we just wait and see.

4)Curious on what role you think is completely useless. At the same time, no one is really willing to buy champs that takes a lot of time to play and aren't pretty simple when u first start using it.

5)There are good Yasuo players out there who know animation cancelling, throwing tornado prediction and positions, know how to e each minion, and knows when to save windwall. Buffing him would make people who are that good on him be more OP.

Each champion has something unique to them and probably broken cause of it.

I still really enjoy it (more so after this patch). Maybe you need a break or some new champs/roles.

You have some good points though. I think not that damage is too high but that players are too squishy (and turrets too). This makes skill expression harder imo.

I also miss the MS on Runic but the Talisman changes are a huge boon to APs.

The player behavior system seems ridiculously sensitive now too. I've totally removed myself from the social aspect of chat as a result. It's a bit sad. They need human oversight and full (but anonymized logs). The cynical person in me wonders if its' not some attempt to cash in on people making new accounts due to bans.

Balance isn't too bad but it does seem like the differences between S tier and C tier are larger than in the past, especially for jg. There are some really random balance changes like the random Poppy nerfs when she was already dogshit but while this certainly makes me scratch my head, the general changes are acceptable.

I've always suspected that Riot balancing changes have something to do with skin revenue, and not just for the sake of gameplay balance alone. If they can buff the champion to increase its play rate, and therefore skin purchase rate, without too much negative comments from the community, they will do it. A buff does not necessarily make huge gameplay changes, but think of it as a way to grab players' attention to the champion. They may buff the champion prior to, the same time as, or after releasing new skin; as long as the play rate and revenue are affected.

Looking back, Ezreal got a 2 huge buffs in 6.17 and 7.17, the same patches where Arcade Ezreal and Star Guardian Ezreal were released. And they kept on buffing him, and then leaving him in that state for a few patches, only to nerf him heavily, or reverting those changes later. The Ezreal we end up with today is pretty much the same Ezreal we had pre 6.17, except for some global changes to maskmen.

Another shining example is Lux. As we know, Lux has had a flurry of new, expensive skins, to the point that the community got sicken of them. In the same manner, Lux was buffed to the sky, and there is no sign of reverting back. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think that it was because they released too many Lux skins close to each other, each is expensive, so those skins' compete each other's revenue, and ultimately result in lower total revenue. And that is why they still have to buff Lux once in a while, since Riots haven't met the expected revenue out of those skins yet. I also suspect that when they do reach that revenue, or they find that keep buffing her is not effective anymore, they will quickly nerf her to the ground in a few patches (or in a big seasonal change).

More recently, let's look at patch 8.17, 8.18, and 8.19. In 8.17, Talon, Irelia, Thresh, Urgot, and Lucian got new skins of 1350 RP and more. In that very same patch, Irelia's Q got buffed. Talno got a rather indirect buff in the form of Duskblade's buff. Lucian was buffed heavily in the next patch, and indirectly buffed via nerfing Storm Razor, thereby nerfing poking/ quick bursting ADC that normally counter Lucian like Draven, Trist, Vayne, or Caitlyn. Thresh also got buffed recently, and arguably much more heavily than other, since it fixes his long CD in laning phase. Such is to be expected, since Thresh also has an incoming chroma in 8.19. 8.18 sees the release of Odyssey skins, but strangely without any buff to the champions with new skins. However, I think that it is because most of those champions' play rate is independent of buffs anyway: those champions have not received any direct changes recently, yet have lots of one trick players; they will play those champions regardless of buff or nerf. In patch 8.19, apart from Thresh's buff relating to skin, Kha'zix also received an abnormally heavy buff. Coincidentally, Kha'zix also has a Championship skin and 25 chromas coming out. Other champions with Championship skins did not receive buff, which I think is due to the masteries of those champions: players maining those champions will spend a lot of time playing them regardless of buff or nerf. I even think that, to begin with, those champions qualified to receive championship skins are champions that take lots of experience to master, and will guarantee constant play rate regardless of patches.
