@RIOT CONTINUE TO DISAPPOINT ME WITH DOMINION REMOVAL

Your company continues to disappoint me with your laziness and poor decisions. While I agree Dominion is bad and filled with tons of BOTS, the few times I played with friends on it I had fun. There were other times I couldn't stand it because of all the BOTS. This is just yet another example of how you cater to the LCS nerds and only care about competitive play. You haven't done anything to it to warrant any player wanting to play it. You haven't changed anything, you haven't announced anything, you have done absolutely nothing to it. From what I can see it is just showing how lazy you are and that you would rather get rid of, instead of listening to all of the wonderful additions and suggestions the small community for it did give you.

Riot wants to focus on the limited gametypes they allow us to play for a week, then get rid of until next year. Congrats Riot . . . another example of your laziness. I look forward to that one event you put on the PBE for a month and then allow us to play on for a week. It really makes my time in League of Legends fun. News flash, why don't you take two seconds away from the LCS and competitive scene and focus on the damn game. You could have spent time completely updating and re-imagining Dominion . . . instead you decide to remove it so you can invest 95% of your in LCS and the competitive scenes. Let's also not forget the thousand Tryndamere skins you create through out the year and leave out other champions that have no skins. Let's not forget the fact that you are to lazy to create skins for holidays and events now. Let's not forget that you released Halloween themed skins days after the actual holiday. Let's not forget that you have yet to touch certain champions after years and you continue to update existing ones more than 7 times through out the year.

As a company you are lazy, don't listen to player feedback, and all around . . . . just infuriating. I don't know why anyone plays this game anymore. It's ok though . . . will have boring Aram and Summoners Rift to play. We have the competitive scene that you love to invest all of your time and resources on while you leave out the casual gamers that want maybe play Dominion or even attempt to create a Capture the Flag or different type of gamemode . . . it's ok though . . . we look forward to playing all of these events for one week out of the entire year.

Riot, you are a bunch of lazy imbeciles.

They've gotten so corporate and so shitty over the years and have ZERO respect for their fans.

But don't worry. They'll "learn" from this.

You know why Riot doesn't reply to all the downright insults people put on the boards about them? Because they are downright insults about them! If you want them to listen, come in with a cool head and a logical argument, and you have a better shot then someone raging at Riot for removing a game mode they have about 10-15 games on. Removing Dominion isn't them being lazy, is them cutting off what isn't needed. Less then 5% of the playerbase play it, 5%! Granted League is huge and 5% is still a huge number, it does not compare to the other 95% that play SR or ARAM or TT or whatever they do with this game. Its a smart business choice. And before someone shows up and says 'the only reason only less then 5% play it is because they stopped supporting it.' Well yeah, 5% isn't enough to warrant a huge amount of support. And yes, other MOBA's have CTF style game modes that work, but the people who play LoL didn't like it. That's a community issue, not one from the company. People bounced off of Dominion pretty fast. OUR community didn't like the CTF style, simple as that. An overwhelming majority enjoyed SR, so they played SR, and so Riot gave their support to SR. They made the choice that they deemed smart, and I would agree that it was smart. Now, is Riot corporate? Yeah, because they are HUGE and only have one thing to support right now. Do they put huge amount of time in LCS? Yes. Because its what is going to keep them going in order to fix and balance and create new stuff for us to play with in this game. I think Dominion being taken out is, while sad for some, the best choice. And I think Riot does want to listen to us, but think for just a moment. Who would you rather listen to? The man shouting at you at the top of his lungs, or the man who approaches you nicely to talk like a human being? Please take this into consideration, I mean no disrespect to what you say, I would just like to clear things up. Feel free to reply, and I get to you as soon as I can.

Baron Von Bangin1 votes

I don't care if they reply. I'm not here to jerk Riot employees off. Over the years they've proven they're straight up liars. Nothing more. Nothing less.

Vanjie3 votes

In two years they will say the same thing when they remove ARAM. Riot is a bunch of hypocritical, lazy imbeciles.

Baron Von Bangin2 votes

Yup.

When asked if they were going to remove Dominion they said, "Noooo. Never!"

When asked if they would remove the League of Legends they said, "Noooo. Never!"

When asked if new champions were all going to cost 6300 IP they said, "Of course not!"

When asked if SR would ever get map skins again they said, "After the SR update!"

When asked if the champions who had their lore effectively deleted during the Shurima event would get it expanded they said, "In about a month!"

They chalk it up to "miscommunication", but for anyone else it'd be called what it is: LYING.

When asked if they were going to remove Dominion they said, "Noooo. Never!" Don't remember anyone ever asking this, nor do I recall Riot ever stating they won't remove a game mode.

When asked if they would remove the League of Legends they said, "Noooo. Never!" Same thing as above.

When asked if new champions were all going to cost 6300 IP they said, "Of course not!" They don't on release they're above 6300 IP and now that there are enough champions in the game they set up a pricing scheme that makes sense and is fair. With all companies new things cost extra?

When asked if SR would ever get map skins again they said, "After the SR update!" Note, SR still in update. Still mentions how it is the beta map. There have been many tweaks to the map in case no one has noticed. Gates introduced at base, new animals on the rift, Scuttle crap, Rift Herald, appearance updates. So they're not even finished completely with the update.

When asked if the champions who had their lore effectively deleted during the Shurima event would get it expanded they said, "In about a month!" Expanded lores found, for most champions, on the website not in the client. Pretty sure they never stated an exact time frame, and Shurima is probably going to get a second event.

Baron Von Bangin2 votes

Rammus, Ezreal, Sivir, Cass, Skarner, Nasus, and Renekton have not gotten their lore. But yea, "most" have if you count two champions as "most." And Riot specifically said those champs would get their expanded lore a short time after the Shurima event.

Singed hasn't been updated.

Mister Support2 votes

They've said they won't remove ARAM since it fits the standard win condition and style of MOBAs that have seen to be successful, plus the player base is much larger.

I've heard all the other reasons for why people hate Riot so much, but the removal of Dominion being a way to help LCS? What? How the hell does this help LCS? It's not like no Dominion means people are forced to watch LCS or buy merchandise. Also, it's been said that less than 5% even play Dominion. Queue times are atrocious and mostly filled with leveling bots. So why should they keep it?

EDIT: Wait a second... Checked your match history, you haven't touched Dominion at all from what I can see (stopped looking when I hit last July). Why the hell is this so impactful to you aside from wanting to just bitch at Riot?

Vanjie1 votes

I am trying to say if they put as much effort into Domion as they do with LCS and the competitive scene, maybe we would have a fun gamemode. Proof and time shows that they have put all of their resources into the competitive world. Want you most recent proof? They release Halloween skins and lore DAYS after the month and holiday. You want to know why they did this? Oh . . . . because they were too busy promoting and running the LCS and competitive matches. They are lazy and a bunch of imbeciles. Now they are removing holiday themed events and will most likely do away with skins for it pretty soon . . . all so they can run their boring and useless LCS and competitive matches.

You want to know why only 5% of players use Dominion? The answer is because Riot refuses to do anything about it. They have NEVER made an attempt to rid Dominion of BOTS. They have NEVER asked the community how they could make Dominion better. They have NEVER made any attempt to make Dominion fun. How can something be good if they are too lazy to improve it? That is Riot's laziness showing its true colors.

"It's a smart business move to get rid of Dominion." No . . . it is a lazy move that shows us that they cannot be bothered to improve on any aspect of their content if it doesn't revolve around the LCS and competitive scene. Just imagine if they had kept Dominion, cleaned it up, removed a few of the shrines . . . heck even turn it into a capture the flag kind of game, and introduce that as the new Dominion. What did Riot do? They developed and excuse they could use to remove any sort of project they have to put work into.

Riot is lazy and a bunch of imbeciles.

The side that works on LCS and E-sports is a completely different team of work than Balance, visuals, etc. that would be needed for Dominion. So it's not that they focused more on LCS and Worlds, because working hard on one end would not affect the other, since it's separate teams doing work.

Riot explained why they're doing the separation of our world holidays to in game holidays. Because they would not be the same. They still do special sales and skins, but not in game events, because they want to emphasize a real, working lore into the game that seems to matter while playing, rather than just silly background information with no strong connection. Instead, they'll do events randomly, as they would occur in real life. This does suck for those who enjoy being orderly and expect events to come at specific times, but it's also nice because there can be big "Surprise! Lore changing event right here!" with no beforehand suspicion.

Getting rid of Dominion NOW is a smart business decision, because for the proper teams to work on it and bring it up to par with SR to make it desirable would either take way too long at this point, or would take too many resources from those working on the SR (and potentially other works, never know Riot likes surprises) side of things, which would lower quality for the >95% of the main playerbase, to cater to <5%. By focusing more strictly on SR and opening space in the server, they'll be adding benefit to the SR portion.

As for if they had put focus in the past and split things up. That could've been good or bad. Less resources would've been put into making the new SR map, jungle changes and class changes, so they may not be here now. But on the other hand, a secondary game mode that would be maybe close to par as SR would be available and potentially fun. We don't know because no one can predict how things would've been. Granted, Riot still apologized in their post for this, meaning they recognize their mistake, and may now split resources into TT, ARAM, or the smaller temporary game modes to make them even better.

I'm putting my trust in Riot that things will still end up being fun. Can't say they're lazy when they have given many quality changes recently. Bilgewater event, Harrowing event, many new skins and champions, the updates SR map, MANY jungle changes, two full class updates, Champion updates, sponsorship of colleges playing the game, etc.

One of the things that surprises me is that the other MOBA games have been adding game modes. Riot is the only one that hasn't done anything.

Vanjie2 votes

They won't either. They'll say they are sorry but do nothing about it.

TNHA Baritone2 votes

I would take the time to realize that they wouldn't remove gamemodes without adding new ones.

LETS LOOK AT HOW MUCH DOMINION YOU PLAY WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!

Vanjie2 votes

I don't understand it. I can respect they admit it is not working out, but to completely remove something and not replace it with something in it's place . . . or even ask the community for ideas for a replacement . . . shows they are lazy. They have no problem advertising for the LCS and competitive games though.

TNHA Baritone1 votes

Those are two different things.

Vanjie1 votes

Yet they did neither. What Riot did was admit they were to lazy to do any sort of thing to improve or replace Dominion. That is laziness.

The company has 1500 employees and only 1 game with 1 supported game mode to show for it. They are the very definition of lazy.

Vanjie1 votes

Yet it takes them years to update champions and balance other ones . . . heck they don't even balance certain champions. Out of all that 1500 employees they cannot release Halloween skins before the end of the month and holiday? Out of all that 1500 employees they cannot nerf a champion, weapon or balance a champion before one year? Out of all that 1500 employees there is not one of them that can create skins for champions that need it . . . oh . . . it's ok will get another Sona and Trynd skin this year. I have no doubt they are lazy . . .

Alphadef3 votes

I'd be surprised if we got a new permanent game mode. Ever.

TNHA Baritone1 votes

Why would they? So we can complain about it after it gets old? or for its queues to be clogged with trolls? or for it to take 60 minutes to find a ranked match? Cause if URF was permanent, then no one would play ranked, much less normals.

Vanjie1 votes

Have you not seen LCS and the compeitive scene? They do enough advertising and things for it so that it will never go away. I mean I seriously have to give RIot a slow handclap for releasing featured game modes for only one week out of the entire year. I mean they put so much work into giving us a fun game mode we can only play for ONE WEEK OUT OF THE ENTIRE YEAR. Yeah . . . there is nothing wrong with Riot and their laziness.

TallyZrg2 votes

Riot isn't forcing you to stay, if you are truly that upset then go find another game to play.

Continuing to stay and play the game after all these decisions while complaining about them shows Riot that it obviously isn't that big a deal to you if you still play their game.

Just saying.

hobomann22 votes

ah yea my kid is like 19 now and is just a pot head, let me shoot him in the face and make a new one [slayer-jinx-unamused]

we say these things because riot wasnt bad all the time,so we feel a bit more betrayed and know that this can be fixed

TallyZrg1 votes

Unrelated argument is unrelated.

Vanjie1 votes

I have tried giving them feedback in a nice way. They never respond, they continue to say "we know we made a mistake", and continue to ignore player feedback. I like the game a lot but I am finding it extremely annoying that they have yet to find a way to deal with AFK players, griefers, and toxic behavior. At some point Riot is going to force everyone to play Ranked. What's next, RIot removes BOTS and ARAM . . . . . because they cannot create a competitive scene around it. Riot is making VERY poor decisions. They are showing us that they are to lazy to even attempt to make Dominion better. Dominion is the way it is because Riot allowed it to be that way for YEARS.
