That matchmaking makes your games harder if you do well? Like if you consistently do well in games (as a solo laner), high KDA, good objective damage, high overall damage and CC score, etc etc... I swear to god that the matchmaking system makes your games harder by matching poor performing players when you start to perform well. ugh, it's never been so difficult to climb as it is now, and I fucking climbed to platinum playing exclusively pre-rework galio tank top.

When looking for games to put you in, it will look for other players whose numbers are close to yours. You have a separate MMR in each queue, so you can climb in one queue without it affecting others.

In a perfect match, ten individuals with identical MMRs queue at the same time, each having selected a unique position that they’re well-suited for. That situation is incredibly rare depending on who is queueing at the time, so sometimes teams can have very slight skill differences (on average, no more than 4-5 MMR).

If you win, your mmr raises so you get matched with and against higher mmr players.

The problem with that base concept is that if your mmr exceeds your rank by a decent margin it will set you back harder and harder. I honestly see no reason for this to occur, and the matchmaking should be dictated by current rank. Let people climb where they need to be without waves of success and aggravated failure. This is one of the reason matchmaking feels so shit right now.
