Wouldn't it be better to have a W that could be placed anywhere within the range that is can go . . . . . as opposed to a fixed one that shoots behind enemies? The old W had that and it worked well . . . . the only problem is that it took too long to build it up so it was really only used to zone enemies out to land a Q. Why doesn't Riot just remove the five or six new W circles and allow maybe one or two to be placed anywhere it is clicked . . . that would be much better.

Grounded has almost no impact in the majority of situations.
The range lock means you can't place the pool on yourself for defense. Someone jumps on you? W won't do shit.
The inability to go over walls neuters its effectiveness in the jungle - the ONE PLACE where stopping a dash/blink can be completely game changing.
It gets somewhat better later in the game when you're grouped but since you've spent the entirety of lane doing jack all of nothing at best and feeding at worst, she's just not worth playing.
