Okay so I see this post way to often so I just want to make a little public announcement to help people out. Each month you may only receive a maximum drop rate of I believe 12 key fragments. That means every month you will get 12 of these drops. If you hit Honor level 3 you will begin to have a chance for one of your 12 drops to REPLACE these key fragment drops. That means as someone who is Honor level 4, I have a decent chance to get an honor capsule, BUT I have already collected all my drops for the month. So I cannot get Honor Capsules for the remainder of the month. Next month all our drop rates will reset, giving us a new chance to grab more Key fragments and most importantly, Honor Capsules. It is still a random chance drop however, so it isn't always likely that you will get those Honor Capsules. For example, I have received 1 a couple of days ago. I just hit my final drop last night, meaning until the start of September, I can't get any more drops. Wait people. You will have more chances! Just calm down and give it some time. You aren't going to just get those key fragments right away as they were meant to be spread out over the month. Honor Capsules will come in turn as well!

I think it's fine as is. It is just giving people Key frags and a chance at 2 free skins. It shouldn't be super easy to get or else it becomes meaningless.

I understand maintaining meaning, but with any feature you really don't want to frustrate a large portion of the participants, which is sort of evident that it is happening since there needs to be a PSA that they work. Even a starter capsule on the launch of honor would have at least given some sort of interest to the system.

I think the problem is a lot of people are believing they should just get capsules without knowing how the drops properly work. So people believe, oh hey I'm level 5 so I should get a capsule. It works like a random drop that may have a higher drop rate as you level up (can't confirm that). The system itself has been pretty back and forth with people since it came out because a lot of it's main features and quirks were not properly explained by Riot early.

Yes it would be nice to have a minimum drop amount, but then again I think it is fine as an RNG system. You still get Key Frags, but you are also getting a chance at two skins - with those champions. It is likely we will see Honor Capsules drop more loot in the future as well so Riot wants to keep them more RNG related with more reward options in the future. Whether that is with Skins or Icons or something.

I believe that was intentional. Riot said (no, I don't have the source) that they weren't going to fully explain the Honor system because they didn't want people farming it.

Those are completely unrelated.

One, Hertz's point, is related to preventing abuse. It's why Riot is not fully transparent about the behavior system. They don't want people abusing it.

The other, yours, is related to poor wording (and is generally false, anyways).

No, many mechanics are obscure and not included in the abilities' descriptions.

While not directly related it's still in line with Riot's philosophy of obscurity.

Not very mechanics are obscure. Those that are are...well...obscure tactics that are largely irrelevant. Or that are redundant to list. Riot doesn't need to list every ability that's an AA reset - half the time they're obvious as hell.

so what is up with shaco's boxes? are they pets? are they traps? are they minions? what are they? Their damage seems to apply to nothing and i would like you to explain them to me. for example why riven getsfeared mid q but still completes animation and kills a box that is not supposed to be killable? MANY MANY things are spaghetti code and they don't release it obviously i bet people could actually find ways to fix it and make Riot and tencent look like the incompetent fools they are. there are countless interactions that are obscure as hell. Creepblocking also is so much fun. when you need to flash out of your own creeps. the dream

It was probably intentional. The idea behind all of the honor system was just to be a background thing that was nice for you while you keep playing games. It is certainly better than missions considering you don't _grind _ honor. You just play and you'll get it.

It still is annoying at the end of the day however when you consider how many people ask about this system and then it comes to posts like these just to try and help people understand.

I'm always confused at this train of thought. Before, the Honor system was rewardless except those who really deserved it ~~and were Youtubers~~, who got Ribbons. Meanwhile now, the system becomes more likely to give people the "max rank" of honor, and introduces actual rewards, and yet people want said rewards to be more common regardless?

I don't get it. It just doesn't sound right for something to be made more reachable, yet to also make the reward more common.

This is one good point. Hell Capsules are really just 2 for sure key fragments. The skins, what everyone wants, are kind of causing people to be a little to greedy for it. I don't think we should be guaranteed a free item that we have a chance to get for numerous months on end, with a unlimited amount. With a large amount of chances to get it. If we are guaranteed an Honor Capsule, we will then probably only get 1 with a lower drop rate.

If we get 1 for sure, there is a chance we may only get 1 per-month for sure and then a slight chance to get more.

Currently we have a good chance to get 1 pre-month easily, but we also have an equal chance to get more. Be it whether you are level 3 or 5. This is just fair for what comes down to 2 key frags and another chance at 2 skins. It's a chance within a chance and really you shouldn't care about it considering you used to get nothing at all.

I completely agree it is confusing with this train of thought because you are still making a greater net gain at the end of it all.

I think i got 3 between honor lvl 3 and 4. Does any one know what the chance of getting one actually is?

Riot didn't share any of that info I am pretty sure. I could keep an eye out but I am pretty sure the chances are somewhat decent. They aren't Gemstone drop rate if that's what you are wondering. They are probably in the range of 5-20% I'd say.

It's a lottery style system, Riot shouldn't and most likely won't release the percent drop rate.

I've been Honor 5 for nearly a week and still not a single capsule. Just to add insult to injury, the Chests I've opened with said Key Fragments have only granted me Champion Shards (keeping in mind I've had all champions since Season 4).
