Tried. Turns out it's hard to engage on someone who's farming almost an entire screen away and can summon a massive stun cage that dashes cannot go through.

If most of those worked, sure. But none of the dashes are good, and all require using your ultimate or a large chunk of damage + survavibility just to get close. The ultimates still end with you stunned from passing through, just after hitting him, and the untargetabilities require basically committing suicide to use (use your ONLY defensive tool as an AP to get closer to the massive nuke mage with an enemy AP ratio. Not get to. Get CLOSER).
Or that all the blinks are lower range than Veigar's afk farming and require using a chunk of your damage, again, just to get CLOSE. None of the blinks are going to even reach him unless you mix multiple (zed can if he uses W and R...in which case he just ran from all his shadows to even get close to Veigar, and even then Veigar can just place his E down before Zed's R finishes. Talon is outranged and can at best try to cheese with E'ing to a minion then W'ing Veigar, which is only going to work once. None of the others except MAYBE Warwick are going to get close).
Sneaking works particularly badly when one is sitting at their turret because their farming works from their.
Siege mages work great.
Malzahar works assuming the enemy Veigar is very bad.
So yes, it actually is rather slim pickings. Assassins have to use most of their gapclosers (which are also large chunks of their damage) just getting close, not even counting his E, and junglers have to hope he is bad at warding. Which is extremely frustrating because your victory condition against Veigar is hoping he is bad at playing Veigar or bad at map awareness.

Engaging on someone from 900 range away is not easy if they don't want to be engaged on, and he has his E if you do choose to engage on him. At any rate, you can't be going full ham on his ass 100% of the time.
That's the problem. Nasus can be zoned to deny him farm. Veigar cannot because of his range.
