Anyone Else Feel Like League is Too Harsh for Newer Players...

...in terms of say masteries & runes? I know a lot of people have had similar posts about these subjects, like runes still being expensive, but try thinking about how newer players have to deal with this.

Before anyone says "oh well they can still buy tier 2 runes" that's not really solving the issue. Tier 2 runes are just jokes now that the previous tier 1 jokes are gone. I know they're extremely cheap so new players can buy them but, you know, tier 3 to tier 2 is like comparing the latest smart phone to an old flip phone: one is just better than the other.

The second thing is how you gain access to points in your masteries. You pretty much have to grind to lvl 18 if you want to get at least one of the major keystones. If you don't and they decide, for some reason, that they want to face people live, they will most likely get destroyed.

Make what you will of this, I'm just trying to get some sort of point across here.

Its always been a challenge to get into. Has been since season 1. The only thing that is different is how toxic the community has gotten with the new wave of players, and how easy it is to get IP now because of party bonuses.

the game itself is not terribly hard, runes arent even that big of a problem since they introduced the 1ip runes for tier 2 and 1

the biggest hurdle is overcoming the community and hardening yourself up for the competition.

Runes yes. It's a terrible system that's pretty vital to the game at times but is barely explained as you play.

Masteries no. They're easy to look up and read. Plus being free you can experiment with them easier.

I have been playing since Season 3. The experience other than the speed in which you level up is the EXACT same. And I was able to do it...

A LOT of people pick up and start new games....this one is punishing....but it's not like it's a secret. Literally EVERYTHING you need to know about this game is one google.

I haven't actually bought any runes yet. I'm just buying a bunch of champs until I'm ready to buy runes and stuff.

I always just spam bot games with IP boosts. So much easier and faster than playing with actual players who have runes and masteries

I'm new, and the hardest thing for me was toxic players. Hell, first time i played Garren I got wrecked, hard. So many mistakes, and i didn't understand why at the time. I wanted my team to help me, and ask for advice, Responses I got ranged from uninstalling to asking my parents for money for surgery to fix my mental retardation.
