what was the reason they buffed ignite again?
ignite is one of the many reasons damage is so high, so why buff it? because barrier was countering it? lol
ignite is one of the many reasons damage is so high, so why buff it? because barrier was countering it? lol
Am I just going to have to drop my humanity and actually start using it? It's so cheap I don't want to.
what's amazing is they're buffing heal
as if ignite doesn't counter it LUL

To be honest - I'm not talking about ignite or anything - but I never understood why Riot always says "we are not wanting to force any meta, we let the players do so". I mean, every time they're balancing the game with a new patch, they create new trends, which will eventually become meta, right ? I'm not blaming them for doing so, as I said, I just don't understand why they are like " nope, we're not forcing any playstyle or meta".
"No, stop. No more forcing all ins"
Riot : "You're in our way"
Why would u even bother fighting when everything takes half of ur hp in 1 combo instead of playing safe and smart... Riot are delusional at this point.
And now everyone that doesn't take ignite is disadvantaged. But according to your well-known across the boards ideology every thing that buffs Fizz is good aparently smh.
except for the mid laners that take TP or Cleanse or sometimes Heal/Barrier* hehe
TP was nerfed hard and it's not even worth taking anymore. Barrier is outclassed by ignite, Cleanse is usless against most assasins.
At the time nobody was taking it.
Mid laners were all running Ghost as a secondary or even Barrier/Heal top was running Teleport and most supports were running exhaust.
Ignite was seen as a subpar rune because kill pressure in lane did not matter . objective control was valued over snowballing.
Supports used Ignite and Exhaust actually, choosing one based on what kind of support they were.
Not at the time, no.
ways to counter ignite :
stop their combo so ignite alone won't be enough (if used in the right moment the damage that it can block from enemy kit it's way higher than the ignite damage)
block their damage so ignite alone won't kill you (its shield value is similar to ignite damage)
if used before ignite it can heal for almost the same value of ignite damage (~150 less in lategame lvl 18),considering that it even gives you movement speed and it will be casted on another ally as well it's not that bad (even though if they see you have heal they will ignite you istantly so it doesn't work so well, but if they missplay it's stil useful)
back before they have kill pressure and outfarm/outlevel them (if anything they should revert its nerf)
ignite? what ignite?
ignite damage it's almost fine,i'd say 30 less damage lategame and it's ok

yeah we all know that nerf was stupid
ignite? what ignite?
yeah it does.. this is true
ignite damage it's almost fine,i'd say 30 less damage lategame and it's ok
its NOT almost fine.. it was FINE before the buff.. it can do over 25% of your hp early game that's NOT ok
i'm already waiting for all the downvotes
then let me oblige you
... lol wut? they don't START the fight with ignite they END it with it
no they don't start a fight with ignite, but with their ABILITIES
is really that hard to understand that a
/
that just ulted you is 100% going to all-in you?
that if
/
charmed you they will throw their full rotation on you?
a lvl 6 assassins full rotation deals about 1100 damage so more than 400 damage mitigated,a lategame assassin can deal over 3000/4000 damage so up to 1200/1600 damage mitigated vs the 500 damage that
can do
even if not used optimally it can still save you since the champion rotation won't even get half of your HP,let's subtract 25% of your HP from
and you are still at about 25% HP (a rough example but i guess you got it if you didn't came here just for circlejerking)
again this donest work also last
2 second lasts 2
first off gnite last 5 sec not 2
second as i said you won't block ignite but the incoming damage from the champion that is going to use it
again is it too hard using it when you see a champion burst coming?
you will negate him some of his kit damage with barrier and he will deal some more damage with ignite,at the end it's like nobody used anything
again this does jack shit, after it was buffed
i said it can help when enemy missplay and doesn't engage with ignite, but heal IS supposed to be countered by ignite so i think it's fine if it really does that, and anyway it can heal and give a MS burst to you AND another ally so it's already strong, making it a defensive tool as efficient as berrier would make it too strong
its NOT almost fine.. it was FINE before the buff.. it can do over 25% of your hp early game that's NOT ok
yeah it was fine for everyone that wasn't playing assassins or early snowballers because you could take one of them
and play an uninteractive lane where nobody could kill each other just for outscaling them later
now the things have turned and everyone complains, but honestly unless we want to back to the "win the lane lose the game" meta ignite only needs a partial revert and people needs to learn how to play against something instead of complaining about it

the same argument can be used for other summoner spells,
delete 1/4 of my combo with a key,
disable me for 2.5 sec,
cancel my CC / summoner spell and there is nothing i can do about that (some champions like lux rely on their CC for being a champion) and so on
all of them doesn't have much more counterplay than ignite
also i just wrote a wall of text about how to counter it (giving even some numeric example as proof),but you know circlejerk > evidence [zombie-brand-clap]

Barrier does not block 1/4 of your combo, Lets go and check a level 6 idk lets say annies health, At level 6 and see if barrier covers 1 fourth of her health 871.6 (FROM WIKI) 215 Okay now lets go look at this problem, Does not really look like 1/4 of health but a bit more like 1/5 Also if exhaust is disabling you for 2.5 seconds, I think that's more or less your fault. Okay, so you gave cleanse countering lux, lets look at the cooldown of lux q compared to
210 seconds compared to 10 second cooldown. I actually gave the cooldowns to your last post, Also lets go look at ignite damage at level 6 to annies 817 this is unavoidable FREE TRUE damage, That does 230 free UNAVOIDABLE damage that lasts for 2 seconds and shields more then barrier, While also doing TRUEDAMAGE and applying grevious wounds, Tell me which option seems better to you? A quick spell that shields you for 1/5 of your hp that also expires quickly and can be melted through, Or free unavoidable damage that also does true damage along with grevious wounds. Exhaust also has a 4.1% pickrate in platinum plus with flash, And the higher the elo we go the less it is taken. Plat plus ignite is the best summoner spell Besides flash because rito balances the game around it
Actual facts < Exaggerating
Next time, please try to be less biased in your posts [slayer-jinx-wink]

maybe here in europe the math works differently,but in italy 215 is about 1/4 of 871 (871 * (1/4) = 218),1/5 would be 174.5
now regardless the % of base HP that it cover, ignite damage is similar to barrier shield so i still don't get your point
if exhaust is disabling you for 2.5 seconds, I think that's more or less your fault
what?
what i can do for preventing them to click D or F on me and negating 40% of my damage?
do you at least know how those summoner spells works?
Okay, so you gave cleanse countering lux, lets look at the
cooldown of lux q compared to 210 seconds compared to 10 second cooldown
this is coming from the one that's complaining about ignite as if it could oneshot you with no CD
reminder :
all have the same CD,also
CD is 30 sec shorter than them
stop pretending that other summoner spells are healthier

I said exhaust disabling you, Do you even play the game? Exhaust lowers your burst by a bit and almost never fully saves someone, You main ahri, You complain about exhaust, A summoner spell that makes you slightly slower??? MMk Exhaust flash has a 4.15% pickrate with a 48% winrate IN HIGH ELO IN HIGH ELO BTW since that is all you care about, But you didn't even try to respond to the post with any facts, You just went through and was being as biased as possible, I said that barrier does not cover 1/4 of a mage's health but 1/5 and then you just went through and insulted me, And yes I understand barrier is on a 30 second cooldown shorter then ignite, But how often are you using those 30 seconds? And no I do not complain about ignite and say "It one shots me with one cd!" That sounds a bit like your little zoe circle jerk, If you were to actually read the post I said that ignite can do 1/4 of your health at level 6 while doing true damage AND inflicting grevious wounds
I said exhaust disabling you, Do you even play the game? Exhaust lowers your burst by a bit and almost never fully saves someone, You main ahri, You complain about exhaust, A summoner spell that makes you slightly slower???
if you read the tooltip you'll notice it also reduce the damage by 40%
40% means he does almost half damage, how yo ucan say this is nothing?
if used in the right moment it can prevent more than 1000 damage...
a lvl 6 exausted assassin will leave you at about 50% HP plus it's a free slow so you can try to disengage or easily hit him with your abilities
also
is less picked in high elo because of the snowbally meta (so ignite is just better because it help s you to snowball, not because it's gamebreaking) and because games are less a clownfiesta were everyone get oneshoted (1 vs 1 fights are not as common as lower elos,if you die it's because you got caught by enemy team and nothing will save you from that)
But you didn't even try to respond to the post with any facts,
i feel like i should be the one saying that
every time i said something i did the math or just read a tooltip, you never did anything but complaining without any point, the only thing that you said untill now is that ignite is broken because it deals damage (breaking news),and every time i argue other summoner spells does as much as it does you just avoid to talk about it
You just went through and was being as biased as possible, I said that barrier does not cover 1/4 of a mage's health but 1/5 and then you just went through and insulted me
insulted? when?
do you at least know how those summoner spells works?
if you mean that i was sincerely asking that, because it looked like you didn't know what they do
also how you can negate the evidence!?!
yeah you said it cover 1/5 of a mage hp and i just show you that you were wrong using the numbers that YOU gave me
215 is about 1/4 of 871 (871 * (1/4) = 218),1/5 would be 174.5
215 is about 1/4 of 871,no bias here just math
If you were to actually read the post I said that ignite can do 1/4 of your health at level 6 while doing true damage AND inflicting grevious wounds
and i show you that other summoner spells can be as strong as ignite is
barrier protect you for about 1/4 of your HP,it's not exactly 1/4 but its shield value is similar to ignite damage so it doesn't matter how much exactly it is
lvl 6
blocks 215 damage
lvl 6
deals **205 **damage
can prevent up to **400/450 **damage (against an assassin) at lvl 6
removes ignite (also if you get ganked you can escape from their CC),again and for the last time it's the only that directly counter for ignite but others can prevent damage from other sources (which means your enemy won't be able to kill you anyway)
if for example your enemy rotation deals you 900 damage and you add it 200 ignite damage he will get 1100 of your HP
this time you use barrier and you block 200 damage from his rotation (900 - 200 = 700),at this point your enemy use ignite and deals 200 more damage,now you lost 900 HP (900 - 200 = 700 <-> 700 + 200 = 900)
now let's suppose no summoner spell was used, enemy rotation deals 900 damage and you lost 900 HP,so i can tell barrier blocked as much damage as ignite did to you,it didn't block directly its damage but the result it's the same
now i'm not pulling those numbers from nowhere, you can find them in the summoner spells tooltips or by simple math,i don't see where the fk i'm being biased here
yeah ignite it's a point click free damage,as other summoner spells are point click free defense or utility,so?
ways to counter ignite :
stop their combo so ignite alone won't be enough (if used in the right moment the damage that it can block from enemy kit it's way higher than the ignite damage)

the worst thing is that i literally made a wall of text for explaining how to counter it even with some rough numerical examples, their point?
ignite it's broken because i said it is and it have no counterplay (after i just explained how you can counter it)
[zombie-brand-mindblown]
Because no one really took it over teleport
In meddlers notes he specifically stated the ignite buff was to help finish off the ADCs in teamfights.
In meddlers notes he specifically stated the ignite buff was to help finish off the ADCs in teamfights.
Then it should only be buff on the later phase (lv 13-18) not in all the game.
Point being there was a reason it was buffed, it was a crutch buff to give assassins more "counterplay" against the unstoppable ranged assassins(ADCs).
I'm pretty sure we can all agree ignite doesn't need it's extra power anymore, as the adcs have lost a good chunk of theirs.
"For a while now, Heal and Teleport have been outclassing Ignite mid lane, especially in pro play. To increase diversity in Summoner spells, we're pushing a bit more power into Ignite."
Source https://na.leagueoflegends.com/en/news/game-updates/patch/patch-86-notes
No, ignite got buffed because no one took it over heal/teleport
Then why not nerf heal and teleport? They already nerfed teleport a good amount after buffing ignite. Now just nerf heal and revert the ignite buff.
Patch notes is not meddlers notes.
Meddler himself said ignite was getting buffed to deal with adcs. You can believe whatever delusion you want.
IMO defensive spells should almost always be stronger than offensive ones
Because if they aren't, there's literally no point to taking defensive spells. Offensive spells will always be useful, you just need to pick timings better instead of throwing out ignite freely.
if we would have a lategame picking a defensive summoner spell for surviving and outscale your enemies would actually make sense for some champions
ignite is picked that often only because it fits better the snowbally meta
IMO defensive spells should almost always be stronger than offensive ones
Umm no...
Proactive spells should always be better in general over reactive spells. Otherwise theirs no point in attempting to take the risks that comes with proactive play if passive/reactive play is easier, safer, and more rewarding.
If you ever want to see a recent IRL example of what happens when reactive play is more rewarding than proactive play, look up For Honor.
Im thankful that the recent meta of TP, heal, and Barrier and just constant wave clearing is gone (even then its still somewhat here unfortunately).
With the coming nerfs to the Domination tree, I think most will be appeased with the current "one shot" situation.

In this meta, you shouldn't get free damage for nothing. If offensive spells are stronger, late game champions become pointless and the game devolves into whatever does the most damage the earliest, which is basically happening right now. You shouldn't be able to take a spell that instantly makes you stronger than someone who takes a DEFENSIVE spell, it just causes snowballing. Defensive spells are taken for a reason, to, yes, help you lessen punishment. That's why it's a defensive spell... that defensive spell isn't going to snowball you as ignite would which I believe is a fair tradeoff.

How is not okay to get "free" damage, but free effective health and teleporting is?
Its doesnt matter what the meta is. Proactive play needs to be better than reactive play. If it is ever the other way around, no one good would ever play aggressively. Playing aggressively usually means playing further away from safety (tower), abilities on cool down more often, and minion aggro among many other things off the top of my head. You only are stronger if you can actually apply your damage efficiently.
The game has always been focused on the early game for arguable a couple seasons now. Ignite didnt change that.
Late game champs arent losing to ignite lmao. Ignite is probably among the least useful spells in the late game and is true when compared to barrier, tp, and heal.

I see your other points but ignite is one of the best late game spells I don't what you're thinking... It's grievous wounds affect keep it viable and strong throughout the game against tanks/champs that regain lots of health
I see your other points but ignite is one of the best late game spells I don't what you're thinking... It's grievous wounds affect keep it viable and strong throughout the game against tanks/champs that regain lots of health
Because almost everyone can build a grievous wound item by the 2nd or 3rd.
Almost (every?) mage/ ap assassin builds morrello and they usually get it 2nd or 3rd which basically gives them grievous wounds at all times.
Tanks can build thorn mail 1st if they really want to for a similar effect
Adc's have mortal reminder
Arguably the only class that doesnt have readily available grievous wounds are ad assassins but they arent focusing the tanks so its not a big issue for them.
Grievous wounds is an after thought for most people who use ignite in the mid to late game.

i guess it's all ignite fault doesn't it?
games are short because towers falls like nothing so you don't have the time for coming back
You shouldn't be able to take a spell that instantly makes you stronger than someone who takes a DEFENSIVE spell
as i said in another comment let's see if ignite is really stronger than defensive spells
lvl 6
deals 205 damage
lvl 6
shield you for 215 damage (you won't block ignite but your enemy kit),also its CD is 30 sec shorter than ignite
reduce the damage by 40%,a lvl 6 assassin rotation will deal about 1000 damage so up to 400 damage mitigated
a lvl 18 full build assassin deals about 4000 damage so up to 1600 damage mitigated
removes ignite and some eventual CC (this makes you way harder to engage)
honestly i don't see how ignite is stronger than other summoner spells
that defensive spell isn't going to snowball you as ignite would which I believe is a fair tradeoff
that's the reason everyone takes ignite
not because it's broken, because games are shorter so the meta is rolfstomp your enemies, and what's better than ignite for doing so? for the same reason the meta picks are early game snowballer and assassins, all of them like taking ignite as summoner spell
if the meta would switch into a lategame meta we would see ignite way less frequently
i guess it's all ignite fault doesn't it?

I'm saying that I would like it to stay that way/have defensive be stronger. Yes those other things make games shorter but when offensive spells are stronger it also contributes.
again how ignite is stronger than defensive summoner spells?
i just show you that the defense which they give is perfectly comparable with ignite damage
they are equivalent how they are supposed to be,offensive summoner spells shouldn't be stronger than the defensive ones but neither weaker
