Anyone who says tear isn't mandatory on Ezreal is straight up lying...

Koreans build this literally every game, and I NEVER see an LCS game where he doesn't build this. And literally EVERYONE gets manaflow band too, so please don't even try to tell me this item is not mandatory on Ezreal. Can someone plz explain to me why Ezreal's mana costs need to be so damn high? He has enough counterplay in his kit. There isn't a single ability in his kit that can't be dodged or avoided. And he doesn't abuse crit like other adc's.

Ezreal’s mana cost aren’t that high because he can use w+ability to gain an equal amount of mana back but he spans his spells so much which is why he needs it. He also has a really fat hit box on his w and his e is not a skill shot especially since it throws a homing bolt at his w.

Personally I find ezreal to be extremely strong, borderline busted, since he has high ratios and ridiculous base damage (mostly his ult) he is more of a mage to me that can kite and burst and hard to catch more than an adc

I'm sorry but I have to disagree with this. If you're forced to rush tear you have high mana costs. And again if the enemy dodges his skillshots or he misses them what's the point of having all this damage? With other adc's all u have to do is auto attack a few times and I do just as much damage (assuming I have crit). And he has a hard time hitting squishies because tankier champions will just block all the skillshots for them.

All wrong. As a long time far main, I can tell you, ez is one of the hardest adcs to catch and kill for an immobile champ, even with ghost. The only ones harder are probably vayne and possibly kalista. I'd say he kites immobile champs even harder than trist or jhin, because with ghost they can be ez to catch. He has plenty of damage and can spam his abilities at a better range than most adc AAs. Combined with iceborn gauntlet, he is super hard to pin down by any immobile champ

That has absolutely NOTHING to do with what I said.

Ezreal has more burst earlier than other adcs even building tear he has good damage and I find his skill shots are fast wide and really easy to land and like I said, Ezreal is more of a burst mage than an adc at this point but I guess we have to disagree in this

Ezreal's reliance on tear is more due to his near constant desire to be casting spells rather than individual spells costing a lot of mana in my opinion. Cassiopeia is another example of this: her abilities (besides W) hardly cost much mana at all, but once you start using Q + E constantly her mana evaporates unless you build mana to compensate for this.

And again if the enemy dodges his skillshots or he misses them what's the point of having all this damage?

That's part of the counterplay you mentioned in the original message: Ezreal has to land his skillshots in order to deal a lot of his damage. It's one of the things that makes him unique, and he is rewarded quite nicely in my opinion for landing said skillshots.

With other adc's all u have to do is auto attack a few times and I do just as much damage (assuming I have crit).

While this is true, Ezreal is simply different than a typical auto attack based marksman. Ezreal has a fairly long range compared to many marksmen (obviously Caitlyn will still outrange him but you know what I mean), but more importantly Ezreal benefits from being rather mobile compared to many auto attack based marksmen.

Tristana is probably one of the only other auto attack based marksmen who has similar mobility and burst to Ezreal, and even then Ezreal benefits from being a hybrid damage dealer as well, rather than almost exclusively restricted to physical damage like most marksmen (barring exceptions like Kai'sa and really off meta stuff like AP Ashe).

And he has a hard time hitting squishies because tankier champions will just block all the skillshots for them.

Another part of that counterplay thing. The good news for Ezreal is that tankier champions tend to be even easier to hit with his skillshots due to their size and general lack of mobility. Couple this with Ezreal's hybrid damage and bursty damage and a skilled Ezreal is a menace and a force to be reckoned with, even for tank players.

Did I mention that Ezreal's global ultimate also goes through tanks? Ashe and Jinx can't say that, nor can Caitlyn, Jhin, Kaisa's (albeit shorter ranged) ultimates (and Kaisa's W).

...Really only Draven and perhaps Graves could argue that their ults go through tanks.

I would also argue that Ezreal hits powerspikes at similar times to many crit and auto attack based marksmen, so it's not like he takes 30 minutes to complete tear.

Ezreal has tons of things going for his unique style of play and in all honesty he should be happy that he basically has runes (Kleptomancy) and items (item 3004/item 3042) practically dedicated to him. Many, many other champions wish they could receive even half of that treatment by Riot (most notably AP Bruisers ... but that's a story for another time). [sg-ezreal]

Building tear is really not an issue for him. He just spikes a little bit later. He can chunk from really far away and that Tear is a small price to play to be able to do that. There's a reason why no one can build both Tear items anymore: Ezreal was using both items and they looked to that for nerfs. He builds Tear into Manamune gladly.

Right now, with his current build path, he can chunk people's entire health bar with just a single Q+W combo. Tear and Manamune aren't holding him back in the slightest.
