Talking about future changes meddler said :

about Game Pacing, Snowball etc

Additionally we'll be taking a look at a range of aspects of game pacing during the 8.2 development cycle (game length, snowball, time to kill etc). Uncertain yet if we'll ship changes during 8.2 aimed at that in particular at time of writing. Identifying balance targets is a quicker process, hence the list above, for a topic like this we need to spend more a bit more time however. More on this next week, well aware it's a topic on a lot of people's minds that's not addressed in much detail here. The thing we'll be looking at first is laning phase and whether that's ending too quickly, with corresponding spread of snowballing across lanes.

Finally i just don't understand why they didn't make an official statement to the players way before the hate began to rise...

Let's just hope they balance this shit correctly. Anyways it would be better to not play rankeds until 8.2 or 8.3...

I'd like Bot Lane to not become a 4 man Fiesta at 7 mins. Thanks.

What is wrong with teamwide activity at 7 minutes?

Like seriously, why do people think playing Player v Minion for 20 minutes is fun?

Back in the day the first 20 minutes wasn't just players fighting minions, it was about outsmarting your lane opponent and building a personal advantage. Lone players were able to have a lot more impact on the game than they have today, because team play was rather limited and we didn't understand rotations like we do now.

It was honestly really fun having a 1v1 experience with the occasional danger from the jungle, and is part of why so many people wanted a 1v1 map when team play started to ramp up in the general playerbase.

People who just sit there and CS without trading with their opponents are pretty lame, but as a top lane main who starts trading before level 2 to limit my opponent's early power spikes I absolutely love a limited early game. I absolutely hate when I'm starting to build an advantage top lane and the enemy bot and jungle are waiting for me to ward a bush or something, and then take my undamaged tower before I respawn.

Sure I could just play an early game champion and get the same feel in a condensed form, but the champion pool I've built up over the years mostly involves mid game power spikes, so setting up a lane with small advantages and good trades used to be very important. Now it's just a mad dash for items before the team fight and rotation phase begins.

It has nothing to do with PvE for 20 minutes, but lately it's just been "Who can take bot tower first" with the preseason changes.

Again, what is wrong with that? This has always been an objective driven game. What is wrong with the drive to claim objectives starting at 10 minutes instead of 20?

Well it destroyed the turnaroud aspect of the game. And this aspect was one of the most interesting aspect of the game. Your team could be loosing hard the game but if it adopted a turtle defense you could resist and if the opponents were cocky and made mistakes you could win an entire game that was lost from the beginning. And that for me that's one the biggest aspects of the game. Good players can loose games too but the best players are the one who can win a lost game.

In my opinion, the best players are the ones who don't make errors and close out games once they secure a lead. Even all the way back in Season One, comebacks were rare at professional competition because good players make few mistakes. That the strategies at that level have trickled down into solo queue is a good thing. And, as you've admitted, even back then comebacks were the result of the enemy team doing something stupid, not the turtling team doing something well.

It depends. You have a lot of factors you can be winning a game because you are fed with early game champs. It doesn't mean you are better it's just that your mastery of the champ and the fact he is an early champ make you win against your opponent. He is perhaps better than you but he perhaps has a mid or late game champ. If games don't last how do you want those champions to reach their peak of power ? yes they destroyed the turnaround aspect of the game...

The time at which games are decided most likely dropped considerably and requires action

I guess no one was working the entire preseason lol

Because they didn't realize it was a problem until all the hate started coming in.

People hate on everything, and if Riot makes any sort of statement and then retracts it or changes their opinion they get far more hate than if they just stayed quiet and waited for irrefutable numbers to back their opinions up with.

Honestly can't blame them for staying quiet most of the time, this community can be pretty bad.
