What's up with Taric?

First off, I love the pink Taric skin. The leg warmers really pull the look together. Pink Taric is the best skin in the game. The best part about Taric is his ostensible homosexuality.

Taric must have the most boring kit in the game. I recently started playing him because armour aura is OP and heals are much stronger. He's not -weak- like people think he is, he's actually rather strong. It's just his kit feels so bland, boring, and underwhelming to play. His kit is so reliable and straight forward it puts him in a strange place. He's either extremely strong or rather weak. There's barely a place for him in terms of relative balance or holding a niche. The only niche he has is an armour aura which makes him good against AD champs simply by existing. Can he be any more boring?

He heals for a high amount, but it's on an 18-14 second CD. So he's a mediocre healer. Trade, heal, trade. There's no intense moments of staying in combat constantly healing and staying out of harms way like a Soraka. Just short trades of, 'yeah, whatever, trade, run away, heal'. There's no mechanics involved, targeted heal, targeted stun, and two AOEs that radiate from the center of his model. His mechanics consist of ability - auto - ability - auto. There's basically no points of decision. The biggest decisions he makes are, 'When do I explode my armour?' 'Who do I stun?' 'Should I heal bait the enemy?' Your job as Taric is to simply soak damage in the most rudimentary way possible, blocking skillshots.

I'm glad Poppy is getting her rework. She's a relic from times past. Taric is realistically functional still, but god he's boring as fuck.

He's strong. He's balanced. He's boring.

His kit is simple, effective, and reliable. Taric is like mowing your lawn with a pair of scissors; every blade of grass will be perfectly trimmed and the end result will look fantastic, but the process is so mind numbingly tedious that you may have a psychotic episode and stab some random passerby with the shears. There's no variation to how you play him. You stun, you shatter, you weave autos to proc your passive, you heal. Once in a while you get to do a bit of burst damage in an AoE around yourself, but afterwards you stun, you shatter, you weave autos, and you heal. You could easily program a bot to play Taric, but I think even the A.I. would get bored of the mindless repetitive tasks it's constantly asked to do.

There's not even a lot you can do to build him differently. He scales well with armor and HP, and there are certain items that give both. item 3025 is core no matter that Taric build you're after since it fits him like a (literal) glove. If you feel like going AD Taric, grab the same items you usually do but add in a item 3748 somewhere. Bam, done.

All in all, he's like the opposite of a CerT champion: Balanced, but not fun to play as. Unless you're against a team of four marksman and the match gets to late game, then you enjoy immortality.

He's getting a full rework, from what I read. A Rioter said he'll retain his 'flamboyant' and oddball nature, but his kit will likely change.

I'm glad he's getting a rework. Honestly, I like throwing idea's out there any time I can, and I put my thoughts on it out there on this thread. http://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/skin-champion-concepts/nMzNIsVl-support-vision-balance-hopes-and-dreams But, as a guy who plays a lot of support. Taric is pretty boring. At least Sona, you can get some real hi-jinks going if you get a lich bane and some AP, and Soraka can be that weird off tank with mega self heals for days.

6 item Taric will walk into an all AD team, 1v5, kill someone, and deal enough damage for his teammates to win the 4v4. In the offchance you play him right and teamfight with your teammates, you bring thousands and thousands of gold worth of auras (depending on build).

Taric is getting the next big rework after poppy. Most of his kit is most likely going to change,so he probably won't have a point-and-click stun(at least not as a regular ability) and his auras will probably either be removed or changed in some way(think of the way sonas auras were changed and Sona is pretty much THE aura-champ)

I guess that if anything stays at all,it'll be his W(probably without the passive aura though) or his heal(but I guess that his heal will be tweaked in some form)

Old kit. Old graphic model. Old textures. Old effect. Old, old; old.
