Games have all boiled down to the same thing.

Lanes are decided at level 2-3. After this point it’s just starve the enemy out.

The entire game is decided by 10 minutes, where whatever team managed to get a 10k gold lead off turret plates just hard stomps for 10 minutes.

Comebacks just don’t happen unless the team ahead screws up so badly that they deserve to instantly lose

There’s no feeling of “outplaying” your enemy anymore. It’s all just instant kills and team wipes over and over again until the team that has a crazy gold lead decides “eh, let’s end I guess.”

It looks like I’m talking about the extreme hard stomps where ones team is just crazy stomping the other, but this is the average game now.

The average game is, win hard or lose hard. There’s no close games. There’s hardly ever any comebacks. It’s all just one sided stomps.

Even traditional sports have completely one sided games. There are plenty of professional basketball games that have zero lead changes after the first few minutes.

League, especially in < challenger play, is more comparable to pick up basketball. And there are plenty of pick up games that are completely one sided.

In League, a big contributor is that the win condition is the nexus, rather than points at the end of x minutes.

I'm trying to think of other sports that don't use a time constraint. Golf? Tennis? Those are just a series of rounds.

The best format I've seen in eSports is Paladins Siege mode. I'm not a fan of shooters so I don't play it much, but its by far the best competitive mode I've come across. Its worth checking out though (free to play game)

Battlerite was designed around a best of 3 format. That games pretty good too.

Cool. You found the exception not the average. And way to leave out a import part of that text

“Unless the team ahead screws up so bad they deserve to lose”

Well I can edit it in and it will still hold same value. Watch any semihigh elo game, tons of mistakes. Can you spot them and punish them tho? Doubt it.

Why should clean stomps(not our dia games, talking about proplay/challanger) be comebackable?

(just to throw little elo shame in, I bet you aren't higher than plat, but surely it's bcs tanks and snowballing sucks)

So is your problem that the game is decided by champion picks or that the game is decided in 10 minutes based on who the better players are?

How long do you want games to go on and how long should it take to decide a game when one team obviously has better players than the other?

I never once said anything about champion picks.

And there’s a big difference in games being decided at 10 minutes and when games end.
