Snowballing is worse than ever.

Even worse so than it’s been the game is decided at level 2-4.

How often is this the case. Talon vs some mage mid. Talon level 2 all ins with his ignite and 100-0s them under turret.

Now talon is a kill up. Before turret plates this wouldn’t have been a problem. But now he’s going to take 2 plates and get about a 2 minion wave advantage. Let’s do a little math.

Kill = 300 gold Two turret plates = 320 gold 12 cs = 240

That’s an 860 gold lead from just one kill. Talon now backs with his 1000+ gold, finishes his serrated dirk and boots and now one hits the map.

This isn’t exclusive to talon either. It’s litteraly whoever gets the first kill in lane is given such a massive advantage that it’s actually hard to throw it.

Let’s take the talon example to the extreme.

First blood gold = 400 Two turret plates = 360 Minion waves with cannons = 300 Smite mid taking raptors = 200

Now it’s a 1260 gold lead. He backs and grabs dirk, boots another long sword. He is now incontestable. He will dive you with out without ignite and you have no options to defend yourself unless you have multiple forms of hard cc. Oh, did I mention you are stuck at level 2 while he is likely at 5? Because that’s a pretty big deal.

TLDR. Turret plates didn’t buff turrets, they just put more ambient gold on the map.

Yes, but the bounty system makes it so the fed champions will give more gold (1000g) when they die. It easily builds up to 1000 gold and makes it much easier to comeback into the game. Personally I like the bounty changes as it makes the game snowbally and fast paced, but makes it so comebacks are easily possible if executed right.

I’ll go back to my example. If you do manage to kill this talon (you won’t) his bounty isn’t that high. He has a up to 1000 gold lead at 5 minutes. His bounty might be 300 gold.

So you only get 600 gold total. That still leaves him 400+ gold ahead of you.

My issue with comeback gold is that it’s punishing the team who plays safe and scales as well. By putting bounties on cs.

Proactive players are the best players in the game (faker, uzi, caps, rookie, theshy, etc). If you look at the professionals, you will realize that even on late game champs they still constantly look for plays. Even when they are "passive" they are still looking for openings- not just sitting back and farming. It does not really take any skill just to sit back and lazily farm. A meta that encourages passive play makes games require less skill and are generally less fun to watch in terms of Esports. Playing too passively should be something that is punished as well (reasons why some people are starting to think Bjergsen was overrated due to him playing hyperpassive). This meta encourages a balance of being passive and aggresive. A player should not be able to climb by playing passively and letting his or her team carry them. Good players do more than just play passive- even on late game champs like Ryze you need to look for ways to control tempo.

Except you missed the point entirely. All these early game snowball picks that used to be feast or famine are now feast or feast harder because they get such an insane advantage.
