Tanks are out of meta you say? Damage only way to win?

He's valued not because of his tankiness, but his WQ combo.
Have you seen just how long Alistar survives in the tournament even with ulti on? He often doesn't even last more than a single second despite having an on-demand minimum 55% damage reduction (that can get to 75%).
There is a reason why the "tank" character in tournaments are either traditional tanks who die instantly but try to CC the enemy team before they kick the bucket within 1.5 seconds, or draintanks who actually do the damage soaking by doing just as much damage as they can sponge.
We're deep in the damage meta. Let's not convince ourselves otherwise.
25W 9L Is my recent match history with the champion.
I assure you I absolutely lived longer then 1 second.
Wanna try again?

I assume yolo queue?
Solo queue is different to tournament. In solo queue there isn't nearly as much proper focus as there is in tourneys.
In tournaments, even Alistar with raging ulti wouldn't survive an enemy burst for more than 1 second or 1.5 at best. Said burst usually don't involve ullti's but rather just people attacking the same guy and oopsies, Alistar is already dead when we just collectively looked at him. Sucks to be him, I guess.
In the level of tournaments where coordination is real, the real damage sponge are draintanks, who survive for FAR longer than traditional tanks. Traditional tanks are only used for their CC in organised play, their tankiness probably isn't even on the consideration at this stage; and their players focus on not soaking damage, but getting off their trump card CC before they instantly kick the bucket after diving. That's all we need to know that damage is too strong.
Funny because I watched Mikyx engage on Nautilus and they tried to burst him and he survived for at least 3 seconds... People are really exagerating the "tank meta is dead". Just look at preseason, no changes to tank items except dorans shield and Hashinshin is already screaming tank meta is back... Tanks has never been THAT dead even though people say so or else we wouldn't see any tanks in proplay
3 seconds.
TO think that league has caved to the Fortnite community so much that 3 seconds is considered "a long time to tank damage."
Sigh.... RIP league 2009 - 2016.

Right.....
Your Alister isn't doing well because he's a tank... he's doing well because he has an AoE CC and everyone blows up in under a second. You could do the same thing with literally any champ with AoE insta-CC. Try being a tank top lane if you want to make a point.
How many of the games standard players are engaged in Tournament play? Given that I am providing my results, shouldn't the assumption be I am talking about normal League experience and not Organized play?
I want to point how balanced team comps matter, even in Yolo. Mindlessly playing the game like your on a walkthrough is subpar.
I did not say anything about if damage is to high or not. Just wanted to show hey, its not the only way to win.
Destroying your teams comp for a damage pick? That's stupid. That not playing a class of champions you might be good at? That's stupid.
hes saying also after your whole damage/cc rotation with your E stun your just practically afk in the middle with a empty ult walking around.

hes not being serious, nobody is going to sit here and dictate the game is in a meta because they are winning with support alistar
I am not excessively serious, its more to call attention to the fact that team composition matters, and with everybody mindlessly rushing low CC high damage "hyper" carries, fixing the holes in your comp will increase your odds to win far more then pretending like your magically going to be the MVP every game.
I spammed Alistar because he is easier to play and is in the role I know, Leo would have been my 2nd pick. He also makes a pretty good generalist pick, Can peel, Can engage, Can make your ADC have more windows but is also good at playing around your mid, jungle, top. I like roaming supports and I like the option to adapt build paths on a game to game.
I have been telling folks that ignoring tanks as "unviable" was a mistake, so I backed it up with gameplay. Taking the time to Walk my Talk more often this year.
To be transparent with you, I also want to see the next wave of excuses from the people who claimed tanks are "useless".

Man people like you really should start playing tanks. Like when a tank is good all you people just say it's not because he is a tank or something stupid like that.
Ali is good because of his tankiness stop ignoring facts there are many supports that can do more cc without being a tank like rakan. Leona and ali are both tanky and are picked because of that and there cc.
Also being tanky isn't what makes tanks good. Mundo can tank way more damage then most tanks does that make him a tank no he is still a juggernaut.
Ornn was never good because he was tanky he was good because of his damage and cc.
If vlad builds pure tank he will be basically just as tanky as a maokai but he's not a tank since he has no cc.
Tanks are good if you don't think that you haven't played any tanks.
And.... this logic is people people are quitting the game in droves. People want tanks to be tankier... not qwer bots that expode the second after if your team doesn't explode them first.
Everyone that isn't playing an assassin is starting to figure out that the entire game is just CC->Gib and people are drifting away.
Regardless support tanks doing "okay" isn't much of an argument. They literally have a high damage ranged burst champ like Kaisa/Lucian/Draven strapped to their ass 24/7 carrying them. It would be like saying "Tanks are good in HOTS because Cho'Gal is good" So me Tank tops/Jungles doing well and we have something.

And you clearly not playing tanky champions. champions are already tanky the only time you die fast is if someone is fed. Ornn, poppy and shen are all good tops laners.
Pls go and play tanks before making a post that makes no sense,
Lol I was a tank main for 7 seasons before saying hell with it. Now I don't log in unless something like URF is going on.

Just stop. You don't play tanks or the game so stop trying to prove bs. Like one you had no mr, two you are not showing items since you are trying to prove bs.
Show a clip without a fed champ in it pls.
Like ornn should have 200 mr at that stage.
But I do play tanks, when they are playable, and I have as many or more recent games than you have on that account, unless you are playing other accounts as well. I just use this account as my forum monkey.
Also maybe you should take your own advice and not talk about tanks either. Considering you also don't play tanks according to your match history.
I don't know where are getting your numbers from with "Ornn should have 200+ MR" but you do realize that was a mostly AD team and I was laning against Lucian top into a lane swapped Jihn/Pyke right? That is
which was building into
.
If you'd like I could run that math for you to show you how little another 60 MR would have mattered vs an Eve with a void staff.
I took ~5000 damage with 141 MR being lowered to 92(-35% from rank 5 Eve W) then -18 -15 for a result of 59 before void staff reduction.
(141-49-18-15)*.6 = 35.4 MR = ~26% damage reduced. I took ~ 6,750 eHP worth of damage.
200-70-18-15)*.6=58.2 MR = ~ 37% damage reduced. I'd have still taken 4,250 damage, had ~400 HP remaining... then immediately died to either Jhin or Neeko, or just another Eve Q.
As I said it would have made no difference.
Also I don't think you can find a clip of anyone non fed these days. Either you pro play it and avoid fighting for 20 minutes and kill baron - > end.... or you do fight and everyone is fed because everyone explodes.
Yea tanks are good if you know how to play them
So you cite the CC lock champion that self removes CC so people can burst harder?
RIP.
Humm… I should have made the title better. "Damage only way to win?" Would have been better off as "Playing damage only way to win?" as that's the attitude I want to target.
You seen any one going around complaining about how OP
is on the boards? I haven't.
But plenty of "Tanks are weak have no place in the game" Threads.
