Yes, he's still great. Rush brutalizer first though. I personally go APEN quints on him with 21/9/0, guaranteed first blood with enraged W + ignite and double dash E at level 2.

Depends on the match up. Against any melee and even some ranged champs, his trading potential is still pretty phenomenal. You've just got to be careful to avoid certain bad spots.

He does his job well. I recommend getting at least one damage item every game, even if you need to tank up early.

Black Cleaver, Sunfire Cape, Locket, Randuins, Thornmail or Warmogs is my favorite team fight/utility build. Crushing lane build: Hydra, Black Cleaver or Last Whisper, Randuins, Spirit Visage, Thornmail. My F*** Your Mother build: Hydra, Bloodthrister, Last Whisper, Black Cleaver, GA or Maw.

Renekton is pretty damn useful in teamfights as either an agro tank focused on locking down the adc/apc or as a peeler, shredding down tanks and frontline threats attacking your adc. With Black Cleaver and an empowered E Renekton shreds almost 100 armor off of your average 200 armor tank.
