Riot needs to rework matchmaking.

I'm getting so sick of seeing normals MMR that is completely fucked up. I just played a game where a Silver 2 was queued with his Diamond 5 friend, who proceeded to completely shit-stomp every single lane. Is there any actual solution to this or is it a waste of time?
