How is Ryze supposed to be a late game hypercarry?
Ryze was meant to be a late game hyperscaling "tanky" mage, yet he always end up being an early game lane bully.
Even after his rework, his kit still screams "lane bully" and that's proven by how strong he is during the early game, for what he gets late game.
Ironically I think that Ryze doesn't scale as well as he should be scaling. Last week, I was playing against a Ryze. He became really fed during the early game, nobody could 1x1 him except me but that was just because I was using Malzahar, and I could only 1x1 him with ult, otherwise he would kill be even if I were silenced - and once he got a QSS, not even myself could kill him.
However, once teamfights started to happen, all we had to do was to focus him and get all our CC on him. Due to Ryze's build, he was squishy and we could kill him easily.
It seems like Ryze is more of an early game AP mage that falls off late game, instead of a late game AP mage that is weak during the early. It seems like he falls off late game due to the fact that after the rework, Ryze is not allowed to build items that give more than 10% cooldown reduction. Well, you can still buy them, but you will waste stats. But most people still build him in such way that he becomes squishy and thus he can be focused and killed rather easily during late game.
I wonder how Ryze is supposed to be a late game champion, everytime he is changed, he ends up being the opposite of that.
