And for most of those 9 that meant that she could be forced out of the fight for a bit. Damage was lower so ambient resets were less prevalent. Cdr was not ubiquitous to the point that they slapped it on an AD crit item that gave mana sustain to adc. And snowballing wasn't so bad that she dominated the game off getting a double kill from a jungler ganking 2 minutes in when everyone is still lvl 1 except the junglers.

Yes there have been times when Triss was useless. People seems to love bitching about her being OP like she was OP the moment she was released.

The biggest thing with ADCs and self peel was in the past ADCs had to either choose damage or survivability in both their kits and their builds. Trist didnt have the W jump reset on a full proc'd E. ADCs didnt have access to nearly as many defensive items. GA had no AD, QSS had no upgrade, PD didnt have damage mitigation, there was no Deaths Dance, Bloodthirster had no overshield, etc. If you wanted defensive items, you had to sacrifice some damage to get them.

And the other big change was supports. Supports, in both kits and builds, have risen in power immensely in the past few seasons. S2 supports only built GP10 items and wards. Now supports can have access to huge shields, heals, cc removal, damage buffs, damage mitigation, etc. The entire support role has been fleshed out and grown in power, so they can now actually protect their carries.

Which means that the adcs who used to be fine even though they had self peel are now over the top in terms of strength because they have self peel AND huge defensive options from 2 champs.

Only major complaint about Trist is the way her W interacts with abilities like Blitz Q where it flat-out cancels it.

Yea but apparently boards members have found a way to build negative hp so she is a "two item hypercarry". Lmao trist and pretty much every other crit ad is fine people just mad they cant miss all their spells and live vs her

Years ago it was less mobility. (you had to kill or assist to get the reset. Now there is the new reset mechanic) also it was harder to kill someone to get the reset. She did less damage to squishies until late game. She scaled slower. Mages were more threatening to her. Supports were less strong at pure shielding. There are tons of reasons why it's more problematic now.
