I remember when Trundle, Karma, and Sejuani had their reworks we got these if you bought the champ before they got the rework, but I haven't seen a traditional skin in ages. Also, imagine how many classic skins Ryze would have if he got one for all his reworks...

Riot probably doesn't do classics because they're getting better at keeping to the original identity of champions with their reworks. In Galio's case a classic skin would just be a green chroma.

Though, I'd be pleasantly surprised if someone made it work.

Traditional skins generally kept the old VO (something you can do yourself if you have the voice files) and reskinned the new model with one similar to the old one. Way back when, during the sion relaunch, a bunch of highschool kids actually made traditional sion over their lunch break....
Paroe1 votes@thread Riot doesnt do traditional skins unless its part of an event - see bilgewater - because, and their official stance on it from the sion relaunch, "It takes to much time and to many resources to do".
In reality the reason why they dont do it because they have a "never make mistakes" policy where they never admit they made a mistake, and sweep everything under the rug in the hopes that the playerbase just forgets about it over time or gets used to it.
