I have a question for Riot
So
and
are tanks right? So why do they have so many high ap ratios and base damages. Tanks are only supposed to have high base values. Yet Cho can ult you for 1.2k true damage and still had 4k+ hp and resists. Malphite can go full tank and build a trinity and explode anyone in his path. Then there are the full AP builds which are literally pure cancer to fight against.
Are you going to nerf their base damage or ratios in the future because both picks are really bullying out a lot of options in mid and top lane. I mean they are nothing like Skarner or Garen in terms of bullying but they basically pigeon hole you into picking people weak to juggernauts because the fear that they can be picked and will be. I feel like this is why the meta has gotten really stale in mid lane
Sure you can go someone like
or
or
, but odds are they are going to pick
because not only does he outscale and bully you, but he counters you all game and can build AP and not care that he is immobile because you can't touch him unless he screws up. Cho really needs his W dropped 70->45% scaling and his Q dropped 100->50%. Ult dropped 70 -> 35%. His AS goes from 1.44 -> 1.75% per level. Starting mana 272.2 -> 300. Now gains 3/5/7 armor and MR per feast stack.
Malphite is mostly annoying because his 300+ damage Qs with just a sheen. And to top it off he gets AD for building AP (ty aoe AD damage on a 10% ap ratio). Malph just needs his Q damage dropped to 70/110/150/190/230 + 40% AP and his ult drop to 150/225/300 + 75% AP. In exchange he would get 12/15/18% of his max hp as shield instead. Also swap his AoE physical damage to magic so if he builds AP you can itemize against him effectively
Why do these guys need their ratios hit? Because they literally are meant to be tanks and they explode people with 1 AP item and don't even fall off because they can swap to bruiser build half way. And I did give them some more durability to make up for the lost damage so they don't get pushed out of their role as tank.
Do you feel that the AP itemization changes actually broke them combined with the new tank itemization changes?
, but I'm not even going to start trying to explain the problems with Riven (I mean her kit is inherently impossible to balance for one)
