can range indicators finally get fixed to show actual ability range?

talking about abilities like Xerath and Jhin that give the enemy a visual indicator when theyre out of the "danger zone".

except youre not. because they dont show the full range of the projectiles, but only the cast range.

jhins bullets can be aimed to just fly outside the indicated angle by a good margin. and for Xerath it just shows where you can put the center of the projectile at maximum range, but the area of the explosion extends a good bit beyond the indicator range.

imo ability indicators like this should be increased to show the actual range of the abilities.

theyre highly misleading. otherwise whats the point of showing everyone the range of these abilities, when theyre not accurate?

i dont think the game should help at all when it comes to that... brings in more skill

ok, whatever then make no indicator. still better than giving false ones.

That's like arguing a bug should remain because it's "skill" to work around the bug. In a game that's already too burden-of-knowledge heavy, there's no reason for bad indicators to add to the skill.

My question is, Why does Jhin's ult let him have a zoomed out view for aiming an arguably easier to land skill shot, but Xerath has to use moving his camera to aim?

Because they work completely differently. It'd be a nerf to Xerath if he was zoomed out like Jhin was, because it'd make it harder to pin-point the spot you want the shot landed. Jhin doesn't need to pin-point a single spot, as his ultimate travels from where he is out past that spot.

I don't see how they work completely differently. They are both extreme range sniping tools, one just doesn't hit everything it travels through before hitting max range and fizzling, or hitting a champion and exploding

You can regain the precision on Jhin's ult by aiming further down range. If you want an object lesson, take a pencil and hold it still on one end, then while holding it at the middle with your other hand move your hand an inch and notice how far it swings. Now move your grip from the middle to the end and move your hand half an inch. You'll notice that the angle didn't change as much this time (thus how Jhin regains his precision).

Xerath wouldn't have a similar mechanic available to increase his accuracy. People already dance around it, can you imagine if Xerath couldn't even aim it as accurately as he can now?

If there's one aspect of Jhin's ult that I think would be a wonderful change to Xerath it'd be getting cooldown reduction on your ultimate for unused shots. So often Xerath has to fire as fast as he can, only to see the target he was aiming at die before his shot lands or flash out of range, leaving him with one spent shot (no cooldown reduction) and no more use for his ultimate besides trying to take a jungle camp or something.
