I came to the conclusion that the towers are just a debuff

After a darius and a Soraka dived me under the 2 towers of the nexus for 15 sec, I came to the conclusion that towers are nothing more than a deposit in the bank for the enemy team to pick when they want.

ps: they are salved

Towers are an advantage to the team. Not a pvp free zone.

they never were a pvp free zone, but they can barely be considered an advantage anymore. i used to think of towers as effectively having +1 player in that area. now it's like that player went afk and they just stand there and watch you die.

My understanding currently is people want towers to be as strong as they thought they were. Perception has changed to match reality and there are many players that felt like riot fooled them. If people are 1v1ing you under tower pre 6 you already lost lane and have no right to be there, whether it's because you were heavily out traded, you are under leveled or under itemized. If they are a post 6 assassin with flash up and they can one shot you. You have no right to be there. The only way most of these people will be happy is if these towers sheild you, root enemies under them, and shoot spawn pad lasers.

so if you lose lane against a strong laner, you shouldn't even be allowed to turtle under your own tower because you're slightly behind? where are you going to get the exp to hope to catch up to any degree? steal camps from your jungler and make both of you behind? you're saying that the entire game should basically be decided by who gets the first kill in lane, in which case the whole game needs to fundamentally change to a 1-life counter-strike style game, and i'm pretty sure nobody wants that.

The only other option is the exact opposite where you can pick weak laning hyper carries and be guaranteed to get to your late game unstoppable power spike. The way they fix it is by decreasing xp gained for killing champions and decreasing death timers pre 10 minutes. So that one death doesn't make you useless. Otherwise if you pick renekton, I pick kogmaw and sit under turret and scale till 30 minutes and you can't stop me.

if you lose lane, you should be allowed to at least cower under your tower and get 0 CS while your opponent free farms without them being able to also walk under your tower an kill you whenever they want. the winning player already gets enough advantages, they should at least have to consider the tower as if it were an actual factor before deciding to dive you, and should be punished if they're overconfident and dive at stupid times.

They really only scare people off during. After level 10, they're just there for zone control. Late game, the difference between having a tower or two and not having one usually won't even be enough to turn a fight.
