Riot I don't want to wait other 4 patches to see TankFiora's Balances

TankFiora, guys, it's a problem: The ability to do enormous damage and all phases of the game being tank and no chance to buy items to counter this, it is an issue. In addition to this there is also her W which can be considered the most overloaded spell after Fizz's E. Moreover, Can someone explain to me why she has 345 base M.Speed when She has a closegap every 2 sec (if it hits an enemy and a little bit of CDR) m.speed extra from her passive and strong slow on her E and W? ?? Dou you Remember the reasoning of Riven's m speed nerf? Here apply it here because there is a reason not to do it .... EQUITY, two weights, a measure. Same reasoning for her damage: ekko was a problem for his utility and his damage? Full Tank and still inflicted too much damage ?? Nerf base damage and buff scaling. So it must be Fiora, 2 weights, a measure. I really hope Someone at riot's team is working in this direction because I don't think that they have predicted the tank build was so effective on fiora.

Nerf base damage and buff scaling.

This what needs to be done really for fiora.

Here's the thing: Fiora's bases are actually not that great. Her base AD at level 18 is 116 - respectable, but not anywhere close to the highest (Morde at 146, followed closely by Illaoi at 145). Lunge does all of 105 base damage at rank 5, less than an auto-attack. Riposte is noticeably more (250) but it scales off AP, and since Triforce no longer has AP, Fiora isn't building any AP outside of Natural Talent. It's also magic damage, and she's not really going to have magic pen. Her passive has a flat value as well, at 3% max hp. It scales off of AD as well, but all of Fiora's AD scalings are bonus AD. As someone else mentioned, she needs a fair bit of AD to really hurt.

In regards to tank Fiora... Well, I hate to be a hipster, but I was building bruiser Fiora before everyone started building Titanic, and you do nowhere near as much damage as a full AD Fiora does. Full AD Fiora blows people up in 2-3 hits, if she can get vitals. Bruiser Fiora (because she's not a tank) needs 4-6 hits to do that much damage, especially against squishies. Full AD Fiora, however, is very high risk/high reward - she'll absolutely destroy anything in her path, but CC or denying her the ult heal will cause her to explode. Bruiser Fiora's damage output seems a lot higher just because she survives long enough to get the damage out reliably. It offers the traditional bruiser package - good sustained dps with good survivability, as opposed to the extreme burst damage of AD Fiora.

Isn't building damage supposed to be an high risk, high reward strategy on any champion?

For example, building AP on Malphite is risky because he is melee, immobile, and supposed to be built tanky, but at the end, it rewards even more than building him tanky, thanks to the 100% AP scaling on Malphite ult; if you play him correctly you can do insane damage during a teamfight and also CC them.

Also, the reason why Bruiser Fiora tends to actually do more damage than full AD Fiora is because Bruiser Fiora has more survivability, she will last for longer and thus will have more time to do damage against enemies. Sure, full AD Fiora is technically more rewarding because she can potentially burst down an enemy in less time, but in the end, Bruiser Fiora is actually the more rewarding one because you have an easier time doing damage to the enemies, at the cost of having less damage potential.

That's why I like to use AD Fizz. He is technically less rewarding than AP Fizz which can just burst down an enemy in 2 seconds - but he is less risky thanks to his tankyness.

I get what you're saying about building tanks as DPS being a gambit but it doesn't go both ways, champions who are squishy DPS champs with strong mobility, like fizz, can't be a survivable like a bruiser because it diminishes their counterplay, burst them, ad fizz got nerfed for that exact reason it removed fizz ' s intended weakness, fiora is in the same boat

They need to make harass stick on her. Remove her passive healing, like they did with rivens regen. Thats the problem. She rushes lifesteal so she doesnt need the healing.

TTUPhoenix1 votes

It's actually not that much healing. She gets 50 per vital at level 6, starting at 25 and ending at 110 per vital at level 18. That's not much more than she'll take in minion harass, unless she gets multiple vitals off, in which case she won the trade.

Hello I am Bird1 votes

I think he means her health regen... Like per second.

Not the health on her passive.

TTUPhoenix1 votes

Fiora's health regen isn't that great either, at 8.3hp5 at level 1. It's slightly above average, but Darius has almost 10hp5, and Heimerdinger sits a fraction above 11.

See, blowing up tanks shouldn't be a thing. I understand if true damage is Riot's fetish and all, but just give Fiora %current HP physical damage so that people can survive her burst if they build items to do exactly that.

Either that, or make a tank QSS item.

Terchio12 votes

Fiora isn't effective pure tank, as far as I know. I tried it several times; her bonus AD ratios are just too extreme. She needs 2-3 AD items to really feel the power, but I will give you that she can tank from then on and become a real nuisance. To that effect, I feel she falls under Yasuo territory, and while I don't condone such mobilie characters getting that much power so quickly, at least she stays single-target throughout.

It would be nice if her mobility was somewhat gated, like Yasuo needing an enemy unit. An 8-second cooldown on Q doesn't do that; situationally longer cooldown than Nidalee Pounce, but longer range, and I think quicker animation. However, she's relatively easy to chain-CC (just bait W out), and with ADC buffs and Tenacity nerfs, I feel the CC has gotten extreme enough in games that she's counterable. I don't like Riot's method of balance in this fashion, but beating her can be done in many situations. Just not solo (she is a duelist).

Frikgeek4 votes

Actually 2 bruiser items are enough. Titanic hydra(50 AD, 400 hp), and TBC(55 AD, 300 hp) will make her do enough damage, you can go full tank after those.

Terchio1 votes

Everyone goes 1-2 offensive items, even most tank supports now. However, she's gated at 2-3 because she has no choice; she's maybe the most melee kit there is now. Sure, most bulky champs are melee, and you can argue that mobility gives you range, but she has no definite hard CC to keep a victim from safety, and sometimes is forced to go all the way behind her target to activate the bulk of her damage. You're basically forced to have most of a kit with her to do anything at all, really. 2 damage items are needed to have damage, but 2 defensive items are highly suggested to make her not pop before she gets 2 vitals. If she's allowed to run circles around one champion, yeah, she'll whomp ya, but she has no realistic initiating capacity, and still falls to ganks if applied the right pressure.

Now, I'm not saying she's UP or anything. What I am saying is that she has a very high power spike after 2 damage items because she has to; a full tank build is just silly pitiful, and a full damage build will pop quicker than anyone else... even 3+ AD items is risky. And most of my point, she's definitely not truly tanky, no matter the build. She will never be a worthy initiator, and her damage-soaking capabilities are nearly non-existent. It's just that sharp damage if you don't clip those wings by way of teamfights.

her W which can be considered the most overloaded spell after Fizz's E

Oh is that so?

Fiora's W=>long cooldown that goes down to average even with max CDR, makes her stand still, has a wonky hitbox, requires really good timing AND a fuckton of luck to utilize the invulnerability properly, it can get you killed if you don't know what you're doing, to deflect CC you have to hit someone with it.

Fizz's E=>average cooldown that goes down to 4 fucking seconds with max CDR, is part of a 2-way mobility spell, it can either be used as an extra dash OR an AoE slow, does area of effect damage in both its instances, requires literally no effort to utilize properly since it's extremely forgiving and flexible, it doesn't punish you for improper use since his natural itemazation mitigates its 2 setbacks(mana,CDR) and is also embeded in a fucking gap closer, which means YOU ARE NOT ROOTED IN PLACE whenever you use it.

Totally dude. You're right. I can totally see it, Fiora is far more obnoxious and hypermobile, while at the same time having a passive that helps her pretty much reduce harass to a minimum. She can also max her CDR to become stupendously mobile and have untargetability every 4 seconds.

I personally think there's no such thing as "TankFiora". Perhaps you misspelled bruiser Fiora? Maybe, who knows. I don't see you complaining about bruiser LeeSin, Gnar, Vi, Tahm Kench, the rampant AIDS that's Rengar, and some others. I call bias. Perhaps you got angry from losing to Fiora recently? Maybe, who knows.

Can we not nerf what makes the meele carry ticks.

One problem is that Titanic is such a better build path than Ravenous AND its a free swap once finished. Fix that then lets see where Fiora lands.

Veraska6 votes

To me, fiora is a champion who simply shouldn't be allowed to build tanky, thematically it makes no sense for a light armorless, elegant sword fighter to be durable, they should dodge and riposte not endure.

Gameplay wise she's incredibly sticky so building bruiser makes her this unkillable assassin that you can't escape or peel, sure she kills you slower then full ad, but there's more 5v5 counter play to full ad fiora then there Is to bruiser fiora

Nerf her base stats, nerf her base damaging abilities, buff the bonus AD ratio on her passive, she's a fencer she should succeed when she hits vitals, and fail when she doesn't, that makes sense to me at least

Photos of Ghosts2 votes

"not allowed" is never fair. It just shouldn't be as effective.

Frikgeek2 votes

Yeah, right now she can just rely on her Crit on bladeworks, passive %hp damage and ult %hp damage to shred anyone from squishies to tanks(unless your name is mundo or 'fuck-your-attackspeed' malphite).

Titanic+TBC into full tank with 0-12-18 or 12-0-18 masteries is the way to go with Fiora atm. Grasp of the undying also gives her a pretty ridiculous laning phase as you can just casually Q to proc it while remaining relatively safe, especially if you have phage or hit a vital for the MS.

DarthSpectrum6 votes

Fiora actually have rather mediocre base damage. Her vitals start at 3% maximum health true damage and scales with bonus AD.

Her Q has good bonus AD scaling and decent base, but ultimately it is only on par with an auto attack.

Her E only modifies the damage on her AAs, and her ultimate just equals 4 of her passive vitals. Fiora has no where near the base damage Ekko used to have.

Fiora is extremely potent building bruiser / tank items for a different reason. By building health and defense, Fiora is able to survive longer to proc more vitals. The vitals and Grand Challenge will heal Fiora, which will allow her to fight longer. (LF helps tremendously in this regard.)

Additionally, because Fiora deals % maximum health true damage, it eventually reaches a point where it is more economical to kill the enemy in 4 - 6 hits instead of 2 - 3 hits in order to build more tank items instead.

It is not that tank build is too effective on Fiora, bur rather that it was never optimal for her to build full damage in the first place. As a top laner, this isn't particularly a bad thing. Against naturally tanky champions such as Mundo, Graves, or Tahm Kench, Fiora needs to be able to take hits as well to survive.

However, in the current Meta Mundo, Graves, or Kench can beat most champions 1 v 1 as well. The problem isn't just with Fiora, but that many top lane champions are extremely strong this patch.

If Fiora is to be nerfed, it will ironically be done to her extreme AD scaling instead. If you take away the 3% base damage she will almost have no base damage in her kit left.

In the mean time, just play Kayle or Lulu against her. She struggles against slows, range poke, shields, and heals. Kayle and Lulu provides almost all of these tools.

Artum Tsumia3 votes

A very good point that while Fiora can build full AD and be an assassin, building a few defensive items is not the same as building Tank. Pure tank Fiora lacks the damage to be a true threat in a team fight and poses no threat when the other 4 members of her team die. She could possibly be a bit of a split push threat in the sense that she might be tough to kill, but the actual pressure she'd put on a lane is minimal compared to just grouping up and winning the 5v4 teamfight and easily pushing faster. The bigger issue of sorts like you say is, as has pretty much always been, is that top lane champs snowball more so than most lanes. That's the entire purpose of top lane though and is something that teams have to actually play around more. Claiming that Fiora or Graves is not your problem for the first 15 minutes of the game is exactly why they become your problem 20 minutes in.

DeusVult5 votes

Fiora since her rework has really just showed the cancer that is %Max Health True Damage.

Yes, i know that Vayne has had it forever, but she needs 3 (continuous) attacks to proc it. Fiora, if played to her max potential and scaling, can proc a passive mark nearly every attack, and do 12+% per auto not even going full AD. (think 2 items + runes)

It doesnt matter about her base damages or scaling, Fiora in her current state will always do the same thing because there is NO way to stop single hit procs for %max health true damage

Dunkrius2g4 votes

Nuke? You must be smoking. Fiora does not have to wait painfully to use her ult. All she has to do is point and click it on you and proc all 4~~ viles~~ Vitals. The fact of the matter is that it is % true damage so her auto attacks and her Q procs it. The only champion that has a bigger "nuke" is Fiora not Darius. 16.5%max health true damage is the least amount of damage she can do. There are scalings on her ult or specifically her passive and the higher health you have the more damage. Darius's lv 6 Nuke is 300~ true damage which can be spell shielded have shields on your self QSS. THe passive on Darius makes it so that he only has 45 AD at level 6 which is 5 extra from lv 1.

Jorencice2 votes

At level 6 you have like 800-1400 life

That means fiora ult which require a r and then 4 autos or qs deals like 140 to 200 true damage over like 4 seconds.

That's pitiful burst...

His Q has total AD scalings so Gage is amazing on him, plus the free armor and MR from his E makes him super hard to kill with it's passive. If you get in melee range and he is level 3 you die.

Can someone explain to me why she has 345 base M.Speed when She has a closegap every 2 sec (if it hits an enemy and a little bit of CDR) m.speed extra from her passive and strong slow on her E and W?

Easy: She's trash if she can't hit the vitals. She has to be able to literally run circles around her opponent, or the whole minigame of her passive is irrelevant and she becomes vastly less effective. Fiora, unlike Riven, doesn't have 4 rapid-fire untargeted dashes, and can only move that quickly in combat. "Tank Fiora" isn't a thing. She is a fighter. Fighters build defensively, but they are NOT tanks. Tank Ekko was a thing because he could build full tank and still contribute a large amount of utility and significant damage. Fiora building full tank is pretty much useless, as she has nowhere near Ekko's level of utility and only deals a lot of damage if she builds for it. She doesn't deal enormous damage at all stages of the game. Her early game, pre-item damage isn't very good at all, and she relies on hitting vitals to win trades before running away (because she won't win a sustained fight before her first back — at least not since her base stats were nerfed). So, not only is Tank Fiora not a problem, but it's not even a thing that happens.

P.S.— Abusing the term "overloaded" does you no credit.

Sasogwa2 votes

Why "nerf base damage, buff scaling" can't work, simply put : Fiora's core items are AD and tankiness. But Titanic and Black Cleaver grant an amount of AD that's rather similar to pure AD items, therefore if her scalings get buffed she'll be even stronger with her kit than before. Since AD means % health true damage (#healthyritomechanics) for Fiora, she doesn't need anything a melee carry would also need. That is critchance, armor pen (mostly flat to deal with squishies). Where people would rather buy Youmuu's for an assassin, Fiora doesn't care. She can get both AD and tankiness with an item that is perfectly balanced for other champions but stupid on Fiora due to her kit.

Buffing scalings won't change anything. Tanky Fiora has insane amounts of AD lategame item 3047 item 3748 item 3071 item 3742 item 3156 item 3072 ? That's rather bruisery, for what? 350,400 AD?

Buffing her scalings will NOT work, people. Remove the %health true damage and change it to physical (with potentially some free arpen to be nice, but not too much). That way she has to actually build some other stats than raw stupid AD to be a monster and be able to build bruisery with that.
