I just thought of an idea for Windwall

What if instead of anything that hits it vanishing it applies it's AoE effect on top of the area around the windwall? So instead of a bomb just vanishing out of existance it's exploding on the windwall. This I feel would at least give yasuo some counter play while making him easier to balance.

And this keeps it as a defensive tool while helping to make it a little less useful in offense.

And for abilties that actually have dynamic hit boxes and stuff like Velkoz rifts they simply don't form after the windwall instead of awkward disappearing the second they hit it. And things like Draven ult would simply instantly start the return cycle.

This also enforces the fact that Yasuo is supposed to be behind the windwall for it to be the most effective instead of dancing from side to side singing Can't Touch This.

I don't understand why people think it's okay for Yasuo to make things vanish completely, but then we have Braum who has a mobile wind wall that takes damage and has everything explode on contact meaning the AoE can still seep past him. To me this is the only way to justify how long wind wall sits up and how fast the cast time is (instant)

It even makes sense thematically. I mean stuff just doesn't vanish into oblivion. It has to do something or go somewhere. The point is that Yasuo's strength is in his passive and his Q combined with his ult. He doesn't need super defense that can also be used for offense. MasterYi at least has the downside of having to sit still and do nothing to use his.

You just answered yourself in the first sentence. Braum has a mobile windwall. Yasuo doesn't

But he also takes damage. You forget that removing something from play completely negates damage. Braum still has the ability to die while using it and so do his teammates. Windwall stops everything. It should not be the ultimate defense because you know what they say about the ultimate defense, it's also the ultimate offense.

Give me 1 ability in this game with a greater utility than windwall then we can talk. Oh wait there's only Fiora's parry and that has it's trade offs. No mobility for complete invincibility.

Stop comparing it to braums. Braum and Yasuo are 2 very different champions who do very different things. Yasuos windwall is more effect because it doesnt move and is used in different ways. Its yasuo one defensive tool. If you compare to zed, zed has free blinks over terrain, gap openings and so on. Yasuo doesnt have any of that for the same role. Braum is meant to jump to someone and move around while holding up the shield and take some of teh damage himself.
