It is incredibly hard to score an S in aram

Because you are compared to every other ashes in aram.

Also 90% kill participation in aram is not this hard to reach.

Yeah I went 22/11/22 as Jhin in ARAM. Was proud of myself. I got B-. Immediately thought of some nerd who didn't die because he wouldn't go against Assasins and caused me to have such bad mark. Bad bad nerd. Sad sad Jhin.

Skins Project9 votes

....

Really?

Don't you know the only way to get an S+ on Jhin is

4/4/4 (With 4 cs)

50000000000000004 votes

It's 4.0 KDA (44/11)

If you're interested in what they look like,

Jhin aram S: 25/5/16 with 84 cs and 43.7k damage to champs in 19:43 Jhin aram S+: 40/6/29 with 115 cs and 68.3k damage to champs in 25:33

People like you are the reason giraffes can't drink coffee

Whut Thuh 1 votes

ecactly, since there is a certain percentage of ppl who get the perfect game for their champ, say galio against a full ap team or yi against a team with very little cc or any adc against no assasins

FantasySniper2 votes

Unfortunately, those "peak ashes" were probably in the perfect composition, so it's twice the roll of the dice to get an S.

Zane Zephyr6 votes

Getting an S doesn't matter because you don't get tokens on ARAM so there's no reason to even care

Who is Taliyah16 votes

I want those hextech chests.

Catastrop42 votes

You know chests exist right? And ARAM is the best way to get them because you usually end up playing champions you normally wouldn't.

Placentas1 votes

Actually, taking a champion who doesn't normally go support and taking them support is the easiest S. Just be a bit selfish - but not a troll - like play safe and smart, don't kamikaze yourself for the team, farm once laning phase is over etc.

Personally I only do that in blind pick so as to not ruin people's games. I rarely do this though, just a good tip. I get more S's on different champs than available boxes lol

Dr Poro9 votes

I don't think enough people pointed out about chests, so I'll do it again. Chests, buddy. Chests.

Mistress Madoka3 votes

Oh, and don't forget to mention chests. those are important.

Sir Fuzzi5 votes

No, CS can stay and good CS is just as effective in ARAM as it is in Rift, you still get a bunch of gold.

It's meant to be hard, you dip. If an S rank were easy, it wouldn't mean anything. They have to set the standard high.

InivtesPreeze2 votes

The metric is based upon having your own lane to CS in, not 5v5 in one lane; "you dip."

stfu

Sir Fuzzi5 votes

So for people to get high scores in a scenario that isn't the normal metric would have to be an entirely separate scoring sheet, basically, lest people be cheesing it. Riot is pretty tight-fisted about letting those loot boxes go.

I'm thankful we get anything in ARAM. Haranguing them over minor details like 'I can't S massively overplayed champs' feels a bit like having our cake and eating it too-- realistically, getting rewards in ARAM is kind of cheesing out already, considering how much different it is from Rift and how removed it can be from that experience.

The ranks just aren't that important to be splitting hairs like that. It gets to benefit from the same rewards? It gets to stay on the same metric.

Oh, and you probably wanted 'Invites.'

InivtesPreeze2 votes

Look kid, your argument was destroyed.

Just move on and stop trying to substitute substance with verbosity. Type as many paragraphs as you want, child.

You're wrong.

Sir Fuzzi6 votes

Well, the system's in place and yours isn't.

So.

InivtesPreeze1 votes

Oh my, really?

Your genius knows no bounds.

Instead5 votes

His arguments make perfect sense. You've likely realized this hence your use of personal attacks and sarcasm.

Elikain5 votes

Look at the enemy team. They had nothing to fight you and MF with. All front liners, no poke in sight. Meanwhile you were (with Ashe and MF) getting easy kills left and right.

The game shouldn't reward you with a cheesy S like that. This is in 18 minutes of the game, no less. It's a mechanism against inflating someone's score intentionally. Second of all, i don't agree that Riot should remove CS from ARAM. Again, it's not tuned so aggressively to parry SR's CS scores but in any case, you should not be only rewarded on ARAM based on how pokey of a champion you've gotten to play. If you've gotten an A+, that means there were better Ashe players than you. So goes for Miss Fortune.

The only thing that's missing here is that the game doesn't really tell you in which areas you could've been better to earn that S. So now you're legitimately wondering how come didn't you get an S with that score but i think that you simply won the game too early.

FoxFyre4 votes

Shoutout to the time I went 10-5-32 and had 100% kill participation in 24 minutes on Sona and got an A

FoxFyre5 votes

Oh wait, double checked my history to see if I just posted BS, and I guess I was.

It was an A-, not an A.

Right between the date and the IP earned, at least for me.

Ztoka3 votes

Ya, the pain.. Normally, 2-3 deaths on a lux/sona is going to drop you out of that s grade. Some champs are super tough because you have to win w/o dying/items or risk the couple deaths to get items but lose the S.. Good times ;)

TacoKingIII4 votes

Your rating is based off of the average performance for that champion. You didn't get an A+ because you didn't cs enough, you simply didn't get an A+ because great scores like that are quite common in ARAM.

FilDaFunk2 votes

Agree - the grading seems to be weighted towards waveclear champs.

Dr Poro8 votes

Not the champs, but the playstyle because you're compared to others on that champ. If you're a waveclear champ, then you should indeed get high CS. But if you're a single target melee champ, Riot shouldn't expect you to walk up to those minions and get them all for yourself. If you have a kogmaw and a veigar in your team that can get all the CS, then let them and protect them, zone the enemy and catch fights instead of afk farming. But no, according to Riot it's better to afk farm and then join the fight last second to clean up everything.

I'm not blaming them really, it's really hard to measure the performance by just stats especially in a gamemode with so few distinct stats. There are so many factors that contribute to winning more games that aren't measurable in stats (for example: staying close enough to allies that get caught so that the enemy team can't fully engage on them for a free kill.)

junglerboy162 votes

Not that hard at all honestly, I finish most games with over 100 CS (even on supposedly bad ARAM champs) and you can get excellent grades with low kill counts. A good CS game I can easily top over 150 after the wave changes Riot implemented recently.

The trick to winning and doing really well in ARAM consistently, is paying attention to farm as the priority. There are sites that provide rankings for ARAM, and you can tell, the higher you go the less people focus on spamming their shit and getting kills and the more they focus on farming minions. Treat ARAM like you are laning against a team instead of like you are team fighting from square one and it becomes far easier to do well and get high grades.

Melledoneus4 votes

Nobody plays ARAM to farm minions.

junglerboy161 votes

Well what else do you do when you've wiped half their team but can't take tower (happens a lot early game)?

Not to mention that just being smart about last hitting helps immensely with controlling pushes for faster wins or better stalls.

Melledoneus1 votes

No need to downvote for the truth. Nobody really goes into an ARAM intending to last hit like it's their lane. It's about cheesing, poking, catching people out, and contesting health packs.

Minions are important, yes, but not for CS.

9kPluzZ2 votes

It's a fucking letter dude, who cares?

Melledoneus2 votes

That letter could be the difference between getting a Mastery 7 token or not.

junglerboy162 votes

Can't get tokens in ARAM.

kinda sucks...

Melledoneus2 votes

Well, chests, too.

Cure Dreamless2 votes

26/2/43 with Lux

A+

Whatever you say...

Blue Moon Wolf2 votes

Are ARAM scores supposed to count toward your highest season score? I keep getting Scores that are higher then my current ones, but they don't change. Like I got an A+ on TwistedFate, but I looked on my champion page and it says I only have a C+.

EPIKON2 votes

You had Lux and Miss Fortune on your team against that comp FFS.

SkZ DoPe1 votes

people are still playing aram ? i thought that game mode is only for bots that need to level the account to 30

No, that's Twisted Treeline.
