Here are some reasons why Smurfs are BAD for Rank

When I run into a Smurf in a game they commonly do any number of these.

Troll pick a champ in a Role for FUn (Trust I have 1 million mastery with Ziggs its OP)
Often play VERY Drunk or Stoned to the point they are just inting. For FUn
Yell at team for not understanding the game like they do
Threaten to AFK if X does not happen (someone in champ select to get the role they want) becuase "Its my Smurf IDK"
Soft int (Ping Gank top, starts the gank and when their laner has Committed all-in, they run and let them die) lol for FUn
Try out new builds that Will not work (Garen Attack speed is going to be OP I know it, nope no Def items even boots cause I need to run fast) for FUn
Give up at the drop of a hat. (Zed FB 4m in GG FF@15) its a waste of time you noob! Im going to afk if you vote no.

There are so many others too all of which HURT the League Rank system.

What's holding normal players playing on their mains back from doing this tho?

Through my adventures in low elo with multiple smurf accs, I encountered this behaviour in hardstucks as well as in smurfs. Low elo = for fun/learning elo, no one is forcing you to stay there, only you.

Also how dare you to talk shit about Ziggs? Tf is wrong with you.

Ps. You havnt bought single control ward in your last 12 games, but yeah, smurfs...

7 is kind of a real problem. A smurf won't really care, so they won't actually play to win.

But threatening to AFK is more than just not tryharding, and people who do that are just assholes. 3-4-5 are just assholes, too. You can be pretty sure they do the same on their main, the problem here is not that they are smurfing.

1-2-6, on the other hand, are actually "good" reasons to smurf. Yeah, sure, the pick might be troll, but the player is 10 times better than you, and both effects together make them roughly your level, and that's why they are matched with you in the first place. You do NOT want a smurf playing seriously in your game, they would just dumpster on everyone. But a smurf playing drunk/not their main/not a meta pick, it pulls them back down to your level. As long as they actually try to win, and not just give up/AFK, this is fine.

Those are the hardstuck gold "smurfs" they cant climb so they make a smurf to feel better than others while still just playing 4 fun actual smurfs wouldnt risk a loss by giving up if they know its fre
