Can we give Aatrox the Darius treatment?

But not in the extremes 90% ban rate and so I just feel like aatrox is in the same spot the old darius was,if you build offensive Hydra,BOTRK and so you will die allmost immediately in 80% of situations and if you build tanky you wont really do much...I vote for aatrox to be on champion update list after yorick,ww and galio.

I can't really give good feedback because I despise Darius.

Try building tankier. Aatrox's main damage is his W and E. Botrk is not a good early item on him.

why not rageblade, titanic hydra and defense?

Like Olaf, just because Aatrox has a healing mechanic doesn't mean he shouldn't build lifesteal. He needs lifesteal to supplement what's already there, making him a complete champion in terms of build. Rageblade is acceptable, titanic hydra should be replaced by botrk.

For the most part, Olaf doesn't build Lifesteal, his general build is Cleaver/Titanic + tank items. His W plus his passive and the little AD he gets actually give him a lot of lifesteal without building it.

As someone who's played a lot of olaf lately and done a lot of build variations, lifesteal is a trap build on him.

it can work if your facing a burst team rather than sustained damage. idk grab a death dance into full tank and there you go if you manage to stick and lifesteal ur an ulting mundo

Cleaver gives more stickiness with the MS buff, it is noteworthy, and the armor shred is amazing for killing tankier targets.

Just botrk + black cleaver. Titanic hydra is a situational item.

Bork is an okay item on Aatrox, black cleaver is highly ineffecient on Aatrox. The stats are nice-ish but for 3.2k you could have bought a titanic hydra or ravenous hydra which would work way better on Aatrox. I find the best way to play Aatrox is to build for damage first and then if the game is dragging on, then build the resistances. You want to be gradually snowballing the entire game when you play Aatrox. Bork and Cleaver just does not give you any damage at all late game and even early game they're pretty lack-luster (on Aatrox). Most of the time you want to kill someone as fast as possible aka burst them down, if you can't burst them 100-0 with your initial skill rotation then you want heavy dps to take down the rest of their hp. Bork and Cleaver just does not allow you enough damage to burst OR dps anyone down.

I was referring to Olaf.

My Aatrox build is: botrk, spirit visage, ravenous hydra, youmuu's ghost blade, deadman's plate, ninja tabi.

Yeah, I realised that after I posted haha. Still I see a lot of people who are new to Aatrox building black cleaver and I just wonder why. Your build looks solid, it's something I would have used a lot in the past but as of recently, I'm all about the phantom dancer craze. Ever since I realised the DPS potential from it last season, it's been a core item on Aatrox for me ever since. Maybe test it out and see how you go :)

why not rageblade, titanic hydra and defense?

Because the ap from rageblade is pretty shit. Also with only titanic hydra as an onhit effect it's not worth getting trashblade.

If you want to use rageblade then your build would have to have at least ruined king and possibly wits end so the onhit isn't "meh".

People also don't understand how lifesteal is vital on him. Without it you can't use the damage part of W without killing yourself and forced to switch after once proc.

What about Warlords as a mastery choice?

If you don't build lifesteal take warlords otherwise go fervor.

When you say the Darius treatment, do you mean redoing his damage so it scales off Total AD rather than Bonus AD?

That would probably help him considerably in the meantime before he gets a full rework, but they probably don't want to risk making Aatrox actually good.

He's kinda doomed to mediocrity unless they remove the revive from his passive, tone down his sustain a bit, and fix his power budget accordingly.
