1% Critical Strike Chance on Every Rune Page

Ok Ahnold
Yes.
ONE OF US, ONE OF US, ONE OF US
Well you certainly shouldn't be doing this on your AP caster champion pages.
A surprise crit from Karthus' basic attack for a quarter of their health.
You have no idea what's good in (after)life, mate.
karthus has a basic attack?
Yeah, but it's bound to Q by default, so you'd need to rebind it to A to attack-move.
Nah man, gotta show those assassins no mercy with 1% crit chance.
"You may be ranged, but I have the AD!"
*crits*
"... Shit."
Well you certainly shouldn't be doing this on your AP caster champion pages.
Why not? While it happens soooooo rarely, the times it's proc'd has secured many leads. Compared to the <1 magic penetration that you won't miss.
I run it on supports and marksman, and it's definitely surprised some guys when I hit that sweet Sona Q into crit power chord at level 1.
that shit isnt funny m8
ive lost 60% of my hp to that shit
Instantly lost lane . . .
Huehue. I put a 1%crit rune on my darius page. They never see it coming
No
I have seen ADC put 1% just for that luck factor and sometimes it really does pay off for the early game but after 10 mins, kinda useless
I take the 2% quint, and it's won me a few trades and even kills before
Well, Runes are really only about the early game.
Scaling cdr glyphs would like to have a word with you.
ADC page:
: eff of boi dis is my domain
AP Page: Scaling AP runes / flat MR : :(

I do this. small chance it helps in a fight. Not enough of a damage loss to make me CS any worse than I would otherwise, and the damage difference is minimal at best.
In fact I would say it helps my CS. early game I get 2 "CS secured procs" :D
I've been doing it since forever. RNGesus will save you if you are worthy
You should only consider this on pages designed for champions who autoattack at least 100 times in a game.
In theory, yes, but the game is actually coded to where if you didn't get a crit your last auto and you have crit chance, your next auto is slightly more likely to get a crit, which can exponentially rise, with it being reset when you get a crit.
isn't that only in DoTA 2?
Nope, that is the system in league. So if you have 10 percent crit chance, you are garenteed to get a crit within 10 hits, with it being 10% to 20% to 30% so on and so forth
but ive once missed crit twice with 80%
... Which would make it especially important for a champion to attack 100 times with your champion, because PRNG tries to emulate the feel of randomness, which would make 1% crit with PRNG try to force you to crit only one every 100 times.
Actually, League having PRNG for crits would make 1% crit far, far less unless you actually attack several hundred times in a game ...
It has one me my fair share of trades and no one expects it.
It is not worth on any champion, except maybe Yasuo and maybe Tryndamere.
It's around 50 extra damage on a 1% chance, I put it on pretty much all my pages. The increase from 0 to 1 % chance is more than the 100% increase from 1 to 2, it's infinitely better.
But that's because I reuse my laner pages in the jungle, I only have 2 pages.
On the jungle, you're constantly autoing and the DPS increase from both singular % crit AND AD runes are negligible (mostly AS and machete procs). Losing a bit of AD won't do anything, clearing a camp without critting once won't do anything, but clearing a camp with one or multiple crits helps a lot. Don't use crits
In lane, if you're Morgana, Janna or something, don't bother due to auto. If you're annie and want to focus on using Q for farm but want to harass with long range autos, a crit goes a long way early game. ADCs gain the most from it due to their Doran's start, but melee champs might be better off without it.
The increase from 0 to 1 % chance is more than the 100% increase from 1 to 2, it's infinitely better.
With that logic, everyone should have 1 AP even if they're Riven. The rationale comes from the fact that 0.85 AD is virtually unnoticeable even at lvl 1, but the ability to deal double damage in a trade in and of itself is useful at all stages of the game.
That logic's even more flawed, though, because 1 AP on Riven does literally nothing, and 1 AP on, say, a 4 - 1 - 1 - 1 Lux increases damage over all her skills by 0.353% and shield strength by 0.4375%, whereas 1% crit basically unlocks an on-hit ability on any champion.
Nope, because you've already explained why the logic for crit is the problem: If Crit did nothing for certain champions, then the 1% wouldn't be worth it even though the relative marginal gain is infinite. Going from 0 to 1 AP is a relative gain of infinite, but we don't care about the AP (nor the crit) but the effects of each. I mean, you've essentially restated exactly what I just said.
This:
The rationale comes from the fact that 0.85 AD is virtually unnoticeable even at lvl 1, but the ability to deal double damage in a trade in and of itself is useful at all stages of the game.
is the same as:
whereas 1% crit basically unlocks an on-hit ability on any champion.
honestly, i think they should remove crit runes because they rely purely on rng to work. 1% is so unlikely to happen and you can't really play around it, you hope you crit and your enemy hopes you don't. i stopped using it because i felt it was unethical lol (which is also why when i play gnar i don't build frozen mallet as much as i used to)
Not exactly. The way it's coded in League is for every attack you DON'T crit, your crit chance goes up. So it's not exactly 1%. It's an increasing percentage that starts at 1.

i know. but they made trinity force go from 10% crit to 20% crit so it was less rng based (higher chances means it's more reliable, so there is less of a luck factor deciding if you unfairly win from a crit). 1% crit runes are extremely rng based and are not fun to play against and are simply an rng/cheese strategy. they don't really serve any other purpose, unlike a lot of other runes, but they can ruin games for other people (unlike if you take something pointless like %health seals instead of the scaling health). that's my thoughts on it anyways, regardless of whether it's 1% crit chance or 3% crit chance
Mhmm I agree, you have a totally valid point. Thanks for being so thorough in your explanation :)

thanks! =)
Those crits doe
I wouldn't do it, you give yourself a disadvantage for no reason, but if it motivates you go ahead maybe it'll make you play better.
Basically every champion that isn't karthus benefits more from a single crit blue than any other single blue rune. For those of you saying ap champions shouldn't be AAing, besides karthus, every ap champ has a space in their combo to fire off a basic or two. You don't lose anything noticeable and you gain the chance to deal 50ish extra damage everytime you trade. It only has to proc once in lanephase to be worth more than any other rune.~
+ Power Chord + Crit = OP AF.
You never know when that last auto randomly being a crit can come in handy....
XD
I had 4.5% ms on all of mine :D
