I have a problem with AD mid laners tearing down towers with two waves from a losing matchup
And the culprits are always
&
.
Let's say as a mid lane mage, you feel good because you outplay a counter matchup, control your lane and shove it so that you get to go and roam. The enemy AD mid laner is clumsy enough to let you punish them by 2-3 kills, you get ahead, buy Zhonya's to mitigate more AD damage. Then you roam to help other struggling lanes.
The AD mid laner respawns, buys a Duskblade or Serrated Dirk, comes back to the lane and shove hard, leads the wave back to your tower. WIth the help of one wave, a full health tower loses 40-50% of the health. If you're still a bot lane due to an prolonged gank, perhaps because the enemy top decided to teleport down and the clash lasts longer, then the AD mid will take your first tower, pushes to your second turret, then takes another 20-30% health. All of this happening under one to two waves.
Obviously it's not a very huge problem that it deserves an immediate nerf, but this has been around for so long and it's odd that no one complained.
Shouldn't an AD Mid laner, one that is categorized Assassin be better at assassinating and picking targets rather taking objectives? A Zed should follow up with a counter roam to get the shutdown and snowball. Yet instead, he pushes two turrets down, gets the team 300 gold and suddenly gets so much power to 100-0 your adc or yourself with a Zhonya. After an extended fight at bot lane, all an Assassin has to do is clean up wounded targets. They are after all hard snowballers. All AP Assassins do this, Katarina & Akali are examples of champions who want to roam and pick up kills if they're losing their lane.
Unless your champion's kit has some form of wave clear, pushing method, how is it reasonable that Zed can clear two towers just by relying on Duskblade and auto attack? Yasuo is another example of how this matchup can be unfair, he picks Zeal, proceeds to take down one tower very quickly. Sure, he's a melee carry, melee carry can take towers down quickly. Okay, but what about Zed and in certain cases
?
Perhaps AP Assassins like
&
are considered pushers but even then they take more effort to push a tower than AD mid laners. Their jobs are equally to assassinate and pick targets off, yet they're not oppressive with objective taking and do not recover from a losing lane just by pushing one or two towers down.
Why do AD mid laners recover so easily from a losing matchup just by buying one item and doing objectively well when objective takings are not part of their strength?
