it makes sense why darius is the top performing top laner right now

This isnt a nerf darius thread. But everyone seems to be complaining about poppy right now.

"Shes an abomination!"

"Shes out of line right now!"

Well shit, I never knew she was that bad as a darius main. Why? Well duh, his kit counters hers so fucking hard that even though she is "broken" right now she still suffers at around a horrific 44% win rate against darius even in platinum and above. What is the point of this thread you may ask? I'm asking for a poppy nerf, because if she doesnt get nerfed and darius enjoys this amazing limelight, eventually people are going to wrongfully think that darius needs yet another nerf, even though he really doesnt and we're just in a meta that really favors him so long as camille isnt in the game.

He has pretty absurd winrates into most match-ups...not just poppy, or even tanks for that matter.

Darius is over-tuned as well.

Not at all. His win rate has already plateaued and has even started falling a tiny bit. Hes at 51.9% win rate which is hardly absurd.

His harder matchups still have him struggling.

Riven hes at 48.2% win rate, fiora hes at 47.6% win rate, yorick he's apparently at a dumpstered rate of around 43%, teemo, kennen, and quinn all have him at around an average of 47/48% win rate.

IOW, stop lying and crying.

His placement is already falling back in line in terms of overall performance without any nerfs to his kit. If he is overtuned then you must explain that.

Because his play rate is increasing.

Players that have less experience on him are playing him more and starting to drag the winrate down.

His play rate increased by ~15% while his median winrate deviation dropped by ~15% as well.

But his playerbase average games went up, so darius's playrate coming back up is most likely from those who already played darius a bit more in the past and are coming back to him now that he's becoming meta, as opposed to entirely new darius players. His kit is also relatively simple.

You have to look at factors beyond darius that are making him strong right now. Particularly the meta and the shift of masteries, particularly the introduction of a flat AD boost fervor and Courage of the colossus, both of which provide darius with some very powerful keystone options.

Darius hasn't received any balance changes for over a dozen patches now, his win rate only very recently, within the last handful of patches since CoC has come out and fervor was changed, has risen. His kit is fine, and in fact, before the onset of the preseason and the mastery changes, darius was becoming borderline troll pick because they overnerfed his Q blade radius.

The Q nerf a while ago means nothing now, where the meta and masteries favor him so hard that they can more than compensate for his otherwise balanced kit and maybe even slightly undertuned Q.

Yeah, as a tank main there is a reason I would prefer to ban Darius over Rengar or Hecarim.

nah not really. you get a little bullied by darius but at least you wont get fucked by the bs Pony. you can always effectively kite and peel darius pony? not so much . sometimes you gotta take the hit for the overall good.

Darius just shits on tanks. And what do we have? a tank meta. WHat is the top tank atm ? Poppy/Maokai. what does darius do to poppy and maokai? analy rape them. ALso the new fervor is just way too good with his passive. and if he gets rolling you cant gank him because he will simply not take dmg from the tank laner and he can simply get his stacks on the laner and kill the way squishier jungler. Thats why he is freelo. It's harder to lane a half decent riven than a good poppy. as good as a poppy player can be lul

i'm just mad right now sitting afk cause i have a monkey lee player oneshoting me with no items lvl 5. using the time to discuss fine arts and Darius balancing which is fine by me.

Darius doesn't really counter Poppy; he just does better against her than most top laners. She's still easily the best tank you can pick against Darius and she can definitely beat him 1v1 if the opportunity presents itself.

Darius does really counter poppy.

One doesnt enjoy a 56+% win rate against a specific champion compared to the overall 51.9% win rate without hard countering them
