None. That kind of comp is designed to win most teamfights.

The only way to beat it in a 5v5 is with a better protect the (x) comp.

Also, one champion should never beat an entire comp unless that champion is the perfect counter to all 5 champions (Such as a Malphite against 5 squishy burst AD champions).

well sylas is a wild card like i said. he has the potential to end teamfights using a teamfight based ult with psycho scaling also so his team can wipe their floor but no he wouldnt be able to 1v5 to relentlessly get the kog maw thats his teams job at that point due to him dying to initiation.

The question is why would you not want to split push against said comp. A "protect x" comp is always susceptible to split push because only one person can actually deal with it. You would be dumb to try to cater to this strategy by team fighting. Keep them divided by split pushing then send the best divers/assassins after the Kog'Maw while he only has 1 or 2 protectors rather than the full 4.

actually we did though i said in match "split push like nuts" "thats how we win". so we did then finally i forced a teamfight ult on them and my team (all finally fed) wiped the floor with them just rammed the kogmaw into oblivion whatever it took.

i mean playing into a protect the x comp is kind of based around a team fight, so trying to play into their teams strength is risky, but id say either a pick/dive comp to make the rest of the team useless (but this is risky, because it REQUIRES someone to be able to one shot him and actually make it out, which isn't easy considering he has immense peel), or maybe even a siege comp if you play it well, but more often then not probably champs who specialize in isolating one person in particular from the group like

Skarner - bring the backline forward, assuming you can get a flank position

Poppy - removes the peel altogether, or you can ult kogmaw if you're in a lucky position then simply mop up the rest

Singed - burn down the peel little by little, then go for a full on engage, prefferably flip the kog into everyone else

Illaoi this one doesnt actually isolate anyone, but she just jumps in 1v5 and if your team is smart can use the fray to separate kog maw due to how long it takes to burn her down

so how many champs can break this comp without splitpushing and team fighting only? besides sylas because he can use their team oriented ults against them so hes a wild ACE card.

i mean this question is hard to answer because its kind of vague, the only common factor would be kogmaw.

what champions to use and how they would play it out to win depends heavily on what the rest of his team looks like.

so its more conditional tanky cc type champs your saying, thats the odd variable?

basically.

cause the type of peel in the protect the X is what affects it. Janna /Lulu would make it so you pick them off first due to not being able to jump directly on him with them right there, but peel like Braum Maokai would make you want to stop the fight all together midway, then re engage.

the latter is better in a teamfight, but the former makes kog maw a lot harder to kill (in comparison to the tank one).

my god janna lulu cancerous. but anyways i see what you mean. about the types of cc/protections he would have. i think his comp was as far as i remember was Leona Alistar Blitzcrank KogMaw and i think a Janna or a Malphite (i dont know exactly the last member) but yes i used either a leonia ult or blitz ult or malph to nullify their cc and my team wiped them i was sylas. but honestly i dont remember their exact members. EDIT: oh wait it was a nautilus that was their last member.

truer words have never been said. now add in a fed shaco who knows what hes doing at the same time for a bonus.

A pick comp with a hook.

A multi dive comp ( so there are too many people to peel as long as u ban janna).

Seige comp+baron (best with a hook.)

A fed as fk rengar/kayne/

awesome people thinking outside of THE BOX.

Would also add mid lane nocturne. Can get hyper fed hyper fast and insta pop kog or completely deny him his range advantage with R

xDogMeatx1 votes

ill remember if i have a premade team to have hardcore diver assassin/tank/fighter features.

Kadexe1 votes

You can maybe pull it off by having a champion like Sion, Malphite, or Yasuo initiating the fight, and have one or two strong divers like Vi, Master Yi, or Olaf jump on Kog'Maw. It would be a lot easier to just splitpush though.

xDogMeatx1 votes

true but if you had to face them its better to be prepared for the worst.
