Why do you lose lp if you lose promos but don't gain any if you win?

Iv'e been playing ranked a lot recently and have been on 2 around 8 game win streaks climbing all the way from silver 4 0 lp to my promotionals for silver 1. This win streak I feel would have been a huge one if it wasn't for my promotional games. To get into Silver 3 the first game was a pretty hard fought 40 min game but we won. Then the next 2 game were horrendous stomps with my team flaming each other. My second game was especially bad because somehow we had a_ bronze 4 top laner going against high silver and gold players. I assume it was because my team had a gold 3 player and the game tried to balance us against a group of 5 high silver players by giving us a bronze 4 player which simply does not work_ and our top inhib was gone at 15 minutes. After I lost promos, I won 2 more games to get back. I then won my promos with the free win I was granted along with me winning another game (if you lose promos you get a free win on return).

I then didn't lose a single game to reach my silver 1 promos. The first game we won after a moderately difficult 1st game. The second game my teammates were dying left and right making mistake that I don't see how you even make. No one besides me would place any wards and the map was completely dark. When somebody got picked off and died they went in and fought as well killing them self for no reason. The second game I didn't have a chance. Annie afked at 5 minutes because our jungler didn't gank her lane at 6 minutes. Then the game just went down hill.

It seems to me like promotional games are always terribly matched for some reason and puts the odds against the player in promos. The first time around (2 of the 3 games have the odds out of your favor so you win the second time around with your granted free win).

This also got me wondering why do we lose lp when we lose our promotions but don't gain any if we win? For example say if I lose my promotions, why am I silver 3 72lp and why not be silver 3 100 lp and try again? Or If I won 2 games in a row why am I not silver 2 32 lp now? Losing lp if you lose promos but not gaining any if you win seems like it goes against a person trying to climb.

TL;DR: Promotionals feel unbalanced. I won every game in a row to get there and have very much improved as a player, I then get handed 2 free loses with afkers and people who seem liked they just picked up the game yesterday. Promotions are against the player because you lose lp if you lose promos but don't gain any towards the next rank if you win. Lp loss/gain should be treated the same (gain if you win lose if you lose or lose none gain none whether you win or lose). Also I feel like queue dodging should not count as a loss during promotions and should be treated like it is normally treated any other time.

I feel bad for the bronze 4 Fiora that was in our game top lane. She faced a high silver player and not only lost lane but my teammates flamed her hard for being put in a match above her skill level item 3070

I thought about it a while ago and actually, you kind of get something out of it.

When you win your promos, you climb to the next level and, even though you're at 0 LP, you can lose a few games before being demoted (which should be made clearer tbh, I hate going into a game at 0lp without knowing whether I'll be demoted or not if I lose).

I'm not saying it's a good or a bad thing but I think that's the reasons why you don't get like 32 lp to take your example: you're already being granted a "demotion shield". So, similarly to when, after losing promos, you have to win a few games in a row to reach promos again, you have to lose a few games in a row to be demoted.

Now, last time I was demoted (this weekend lol), I was put at 72 Lp... that feels pretty bad.

I agree with you that the system should be somehow similar for demotion and promotion.

Because you get to promos when you reach 100 LP. If you lost promos but didn't lose LP, you would be constantly at 100 LP with infinite promo chances, I'd assume. So you lose LP to climb and earn back the promo chance.

I was always thinking why we dont begin each division in the middle of it (50LP), then climb or drop would be equal for both sides.

Just wanna add my thoughts to this.

I think rito should make it so that you see exactly how many times you have to loose at 0lp to be demoted again and that when you are at lets say 98lp and you win and then also win your promos, you should keep the excess lp that you got from winning at 98lp ( lets say you get 15lp at 98lp, then you should get 13lp after you win promos).
