Games I have been focusing more on CS than all in kills are games I find myself winning my lane more often. Although I am still not up to LCS level of CSing, which is like 6-8 per minute. I am hitting around 4.56 a minute and it's been improving my game laning phase a lot.. Definitely try it if you're also struggling in Bronze like me!

A big aspect of this is that if you generate a big CS advantage a lot of the time it baits your opponent to be too aggressive because they can see they're falling behind. Overly aggressive opponents make lots of mistakes that you can capitalize on :)

Playing carefully is underrated as a strategy. Oftentimes the players with the most kills at the end of the game are the ones who calmly CSed in lane and capitalized on some stupid aggression their opponent made.

Well, it just made a huge impact last night when I was playing Quinn vs Caitlyn. The Caitlyn wasn't missing her skillshots and stuff, but at about 12~15 minutes I had her beat by about 30 CS. It made a huge difference when I backed and got B.F., boots and wards. Then after that I got the first kill between bot lanes and it was downhill from there for her. It just made me realize how important CSing truly was. Poke when you can, CS your best and capitalize on a mistake by them.

Especially as a Quinn vs Caitlyn; that's a hard matchup unless you get ahead. I really need to get better at my CSing, which I really suck at

At most people's elos, another big aspect is that a lot of your own aggression is a mistake that your opponents can capitalize on. Focusing too hard on kills is the #1 way to lose lane and throw games.

Nasus You don't follow the Noob cicle:

Kills = Free objective = More gold = More damage = More Kills

Do you see SC in the Cicle? No? That's why you get downvoted.

EDIT (It's a joke btw)

What is cicle?

Edit: Also, the entire point of this thread is to help people who are also struggling in Bronze. I am not some Gold+ who is trying to act like I am better. I am genuinely giving advice because it's helped me improve my game in the past few days.

I think they mean "cycle" instead of "cicle" based on the context.

Also I think they meant to type "CS" instead of SC.

I thought they were talking about circles and starcraft when I first read it.

Best way to get better at CS, go play a custom game, with or without bots to lane against, and try to CS perfectly for the first 10 minutes.

Do it when you get on and before you get off and I promise you'll notice results.

I watch LCS players play my champ and see how they manage to CS. Because sometimes I don't know how to last hit under turret properly. From watching videos, I got a better understanding of that.

Just as useful: preventing your opposing laner from safely getting CS. Not just because it keeps gold out their pocket, but also because if deny them hard enough, it will start to piss them off and start them on a mini tilt that snowballs into a huge one. The more behind they are in CS, the more they'll feel the need to take risks to catch up.

Yep, understanding when to freeze a lane and when to shove it to tower so you can back and shop are insanely crucial parts of the game.

Krys Star3 votes

Yeah. It really annoys me when I'm trying to cs and mix in trade, but the enemy lane just wants to trade, trade, trade. Eventually I come out 30-50 cs ahead of them while also trading fairly well. People are just too aggressive and blood hungry. CS is more worth than kills on average, unless you're snowballing from kills which isn't always likely.

lcs level csing isnt 6-8 its more like 11-12 per min

6 cs a minute is missing an entire wave

Earl Eulrich1 votes

that really depends on position and "gameflow" if it´s a stall laning phase for a prolonged time ~10 is kinda standard for ADC, 8-10 for mid and top. But if games get more sped up or lanes are swapped you often see toplaners running around with even as slim as 5/min and most mids don´t even average out on 10 till min 25. The only currently active midlaner in europe i know of that constantly manages to average 10/min in a professional game is actually Xpeke. 11-12 can only be achieved very late into the game when other lanes (mostly top) sacrifice their waves to the APC or (mostly) the ADC.

Sion Veigar Nasus We can only show you the importance of CSing. You must take it upon yourself to carry out that task.

Xerath Annie Velkoz , This is how i went from b1 to p5 last season and for some reason, after i got placed in gold, thought i could use plat supports to carry myself back this season, i was wrong. So i am going back to these supports, basically being a second APC, and will let you know how it goes this sesaon.

Xearth is a powerfull sup, stun, slow, massive poke with mana regen passive makes him super annoying in lane. Against the tank meta idk how it works since i havent tried it this season but he probably still dominates bot lane Gold and lower.

shalexade1 votes

This.

A slight expansion to it is: Poke.

In lane, it's your job to prevent the other ADC from farming.

Poke well, and you'll leave them tucked up under turret crying to mummy. (And also possibly raging at their support/jungle).

Just make sure that you keep the appropriate places warded.

Rateth1 votes

The biggest problem I see with supports when I play ADC are supports that don't understand lane presence. You need to be constantly moving to positions that make the enemy ADC worry that you're about to engage/poke at any moment. If you spend half of the laning phase standing in the brush waiting for the perfect engage/hook or whatever, your ADC is practically laning alone.

If I am the ADC, I let my support initiate. It just allows the support to poke a bit. More or less it comes down to synergy between the two of you. I've had amazing supports that got me fed, and also terrible supports who got me killed. You just gotta shot call a bit.

mvargus1 votes

This actually is how it should work in bot lane most of the time. The ADC is there to poke/initiate on the enemy team. Done right the ADC can farm freely and still get involved in attempts to kill the other team.

In fact the support item "Spellthief's Edge" is specifically set up for this as it gives the support gold if they attack the other team.

I main support, my job is to deny the enemy ADC. So that you can keep your lead.

I so agree, cs'ing is the most ignored and one of the most impactful game mechanic you can learn to conquer low elo! It's amazing how many of my opponents in bronze often average 30cs/10mins.

I mean obv. there is much more to climbing, but learning to lasthit (i do it by practicing in custom games) makes a huge impact. as adc you can get a bf after only 40something cs. thats an enormous powerspike!

Their average CS per game is for the whole game though, CS per minutes tends to fall off after the laning phase. Look at CS at 10 min (if they publish stats on that) instead.

Earl Eulrich1 votes

rest assured, even LCS pros won´t hit 10per min in a classical SoloQ Game. those really high numbers are mostly achieved by teamwork, when you try to rotate around without losing much cs. In SoloQ however you´re often forced to group while big waves are pushing through, the jungler will take more waves than he should or you just have to roam around to seccure vision or to support a losing lane without having the coordnation to set it up correctly, wasting more time than you should...also, they tend to funnel most of their farm towards the carries (Ap and especially AD, so they get to farm all the empty lanes while the team holds the pressure elsewhere...leading to very high farm especially on ADCs later in the game).

CS is really important. I was playing in top lane against a champion that countered me hard, but I was able to keep up in CS so I stayed ahead, got an early gank which gave me a kill. Then they went bot lane, who ignored my pings.. Lol
