Can we change riven's 3rd q knock up into a slow or root?

Probably going to just get downvoted without reason. So prove me wrong, give me your reasoning. She has more hard cc than over half of the roster. Why is this okay?

Burden of proof is on you. You're gonna have to list out all the 'hard cc' of every champ and prove that she has more than half (which lmao would make her have an average amount by definition), then explain why she specifically should apparently have 0 cc.

Yosuke Apperu1 votes

I believe the problem lies in the fact that she has too separate forms of cc.. This gives her the ability to interrupt her opponents twice per trade. As for your list, give me just a second :P

I don't get what you mean.. lol. Elaborate?

The riven changes were buffs and yes making windslash deal full damage to people without needing them to be low HP is a buff. Mother of god people its not rocket science.

When a skill gains damage the lower your targets hp is that is an execute.

To our OP. When both of those CC's are about the same duration as other champions average CC on one skill while also being melee range I dont see the problem at all.

False.

She has two instances of hard CC, both lasting less than a full second. One lasts 0.5 seconds, the other lasts 0.75 seconds, both are in a very small AoE.

In comparison to both the Fighter archetype and the entire League roster, that's lower than average.

I agree, she would still have hard CC on her W. But the Riven mains would just QQ about it as always since they can't win on a champ that isn't OP.

Or just downvote you to oblivion like they have without saying a word XD.

maybe its frustrating when you get 1 combo rekt by Riven but imagine the game without champs that can blow other champs( Rengar ) imagine how boring the game would be,or imagine the game without Knock ups or stuns

My frustration comes from how easily she can get back into the game, and how hard she is to deal with if one of your teammates feeds her in lane. She seems to be a lot more of a handful to take care of compared to other fed fighters. She also has the only shield in the game that scales with ad. Personally I enjoy very much going against rivens :)

The Sword Saint4 votes

She requires a lot more effort than most other fighters to perform at the same level, and is more of a gamble. A darius who's behind can build full tank and ult a low hp target in a team fight and suddenly becomes a massive threat. A Riven who is behind is going to die over and over because she's is only even remotely effective as an ad melee glass cannon even when behind, and has to either make massive out plays or clean up some low hp enemies in a team fight if she wants to hope to be relevant.

It's like talking about an ad carry or a burst mage, you can't just build tank if you start falling behind because you'll be 100% useless to the team even if you do manage to die a little less often. Riven's cc and shield are her only effective ways of sustaining through lane or in a fight and they rely on her to use them well, unlike someone like garen who gets free tank stats and who can push a button to gain % damage reduction, or darius who can q people to heal up, or tahm who gets a second full life bar, etc.

I don't think the problem is with her knock up. It's the fact that she's resource less with a aoe execute. I really liked the changes they had in the PBE but Riven mains cried too hard and they got reverted.

Then you're a moron because the changes were buffs.

The experimental changes also includes the removal of %Hp damage from her ult. I think a lot of people has forgotten that part.

You're both clueless. She never had an execute or &hp damage on her ult. Ever. What she had was an ult that scaled from its min to max damage based on the %hp the enemy had, hitting it's max at about 25%. You can read the exact maximum damage it can do in the tooltip, and it has nothing to do with how much hp the enemy bought. The new edge system allowed you to hit that same amount of damage on everyone you windslash as long as you had max edge. It literally would deal the same damage on everyone it hits as much as it does now on low hp targets.

Okay, technically, that is an execute. Damage scaled on the target's missing HP is an execute.

Riven's was just specially scaled, dealing +8% more damage for every 3% missing HP, maxing at +200% damage on targets missing 75% or more HP.

But you're right that she never had explicit % missing HP scaling in her kit.

Because removing the execute from her ulti is a buff? That's the most annoying part about her is that ulti. "You're a moron" because you think that's a buff lmao

It was never an execute, and trading the ability to pop ult and snipe someone low hp under tower for the ability to deal windslashes full damage on all targets regardless of % hp is definately a buff.

That's ignoring, you know, the %10 bonus damage she would get from edge that she traded 0 damage for. She does the same damage as she does now without edge, and with edge she deals 10% more. A quick youtube search shows boxbox commenting that he doesn't like this buff to riven because he finds it a boring way to add power that would just make her more annoying for people to deal with.

Because gaining dmg the lower the enemies hp is isn't an execute? Do you know the definition of the word execute?
