Am I the only one who feels useless as support?

I feel like I can't carry at all and have no effect on the game other than to baby my ADC and ward.

time for you to play Blitzcrank

I did, they picked Zilean and Ezreal. Every time I grabbed Ezreal he'd negated it with E, if I grabbed him after he used it, Zilean would ult him, if I grabbed Zilean he'd stun me and then ult himself if he was about to die. It honestly sucked.

sometimes you have a hard land...ez is the worst for blitz. so you grab zilean. if you managed to hook zil before level 5 he would most likely have died...

not like zilean started with level 6 haha

Supports are so OP that they aren't allowed to have scaling, items, or farm but are still as strong as a hyper carry if played right.

LegacyDAP2 votes

Is that sarcasm? If not then what should I do to become "OP"?

You just get in people's faces for the most part. Watch some high level games. The other team doesn't want to blow cooldowns on you normally and most supports can lock down multiple people.

Carry mindset is more safe dps and kills. Support should be more how can I make a play.

I used to be bored when shifted into support. Then I played Sion in support. Now I probably enjoy support as my third favorite role. Got Leona recently and can't wait to try her out (played her once when free to play. Haven't tried the new Masteries on her yet).

shes awesome aslong as your adc is paying attention. pretty close to lvl 5 on her rn.

You probably aren't the only one, but you have a huge impact on the game. The ADC's do need supports due to them being weak early. Warding is also huge, as vision is a deciding factor in team fights. Come mid to late game, you are to keep your team healed/stack CC/engage for your team when you group.

Funny, that's how I feel when I play ADC, I can't make plays and I can't take my own initiative because I'll just get killed instantly if I don't have people to bodyblock for me.

Lmao, I always feel like I can carry as ADC. Because I can actually set up plays on my own, and know how to poke and shove and freeze lane.

Just a silly unranked game with friends..but- http://matchhistory.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/#match-details/NA1/2022383902/32961597?tab=overview

If your adc sucks you certainly cant carry. But thats how this game is designed in general... "If your team plays bad, you get punished" kek

Go give some of the traditional Support champs a whirl in Dominion.

They're strong as hell and have a very real impact on the game. Sona in particular.

Rift is just a poorly balance map.

try Shen or Illaoi support. Probably one of the douchiest things i see.

other than to baby my ADC and ward.

Then don't baby your ADC [too much].

You are the team's support, not the ADC's. If you're not having a huge impact on bot lane, or your ADC is independent after a certain point, you should be roaming and helping other teammates.

Honestly, the last time I had fun playing support was back in Season 3 when I first got Lulu and pretty much spam played her for a month straight. Then the support changes for S4 came along and pretty much ruined everything for me.

I like to be hectic and reckless as all hell. It's why I love adc so much. It matches my mindset. Back in S3 with Lulu I could tell people to do the reckless shit for me and keep them alive or if my adc was just THAT bad then I could do the diving still. With the S4 changes, I simply couldn't do that anymore. I HAD to play either Leona or Thresh if I wanted to dive. The problem is that I don't like either of them too much because they don't do nearly as much damage as I like.

If I see someone in river alone such as an Annie or Syndra and I'm Leona then I simply can't kill them in a 1v1. With Lulu I could though. Not to mention the all around nerfs for mages that came around during the whole S4 season.

Eventually I dropped Lulu and the rest of my supports; Sona and Karma. All in favor of ADC and mained strictly Jinx and Draven for the entirety of S4 and most of S5. (I have over 400 RANKED games on Jinx alone.) Whenever I got stuck in support I could only sigh because the only support I can even remotely play decently now is Leona and sometimes Annie.

Simply put, I think poke comps need to be stronger and have more versatility than they do. They are really fucking weak right now besides Soraka. (Who ironically wouldn't' be so broken if poke comps were still viable.)

The thing is, unless you play with a tank mindset or a heavy utility mindset you're going to hate support with a passion since tank supports are so absolutely dominant over that role.

It's been like this for about 2 years now. Damn, time flies.

Not a fan of supporting so far this season, but you can still carry from the position. Early on you're the bully. You are meant to be strong without a ton of expensive damage items and depending on who you play you can either be a massive annoyance or downright terrifying (Soraka is the heal queen but a Leona jumping on you and stun locking you can make you crap yourself as an ADC) and if you play it right some of them can even 2v1 and come out alive.

You do have an effect on the game, though. If the ADC actually needs to be babysat then you might need to go to other lanes and try to snowball those.
