I'm just curious, how much longer until I'm forced to upgrade to the new client?

It has different features. If it has more, but it's lacking important ones the old one has, then more doesn't make it better.

Let me know when the new client allows you to spectate challengers on the ladder, and then I'll consider saying the new one is better :)

I already spectated Challenger players on the new client iirc. Haven't done it this Patch though.

Might only be out in EUW then, or something. The legacy client still allows ladder viewing and spectating for me in NA. But when I close the legacy client and launch beta and go to the ladder to try to spectate the exact same person that is still in game, the option is greyed out. (And then I go back to legacy to verify the player didn't just surrender or something.)

The new one is buggy and is missing features the old one has. Better is entirely subjective.
