Why is QSS efficient to buy on AP champs?

Kind of wondering why it makes sense to get a QSS even if you aren't an AD carry that will be building it into a item 3139.

Enemy team has a Malzahar Warwick Skarner?

Buy QSS. Doesnt matter if you're AP. QSS only gives MR anyway which distances itself from being an AD item. Its really not that expensive either

AP gets item 3157. AD gets item 3140. Except AP also gets item 3140. Lol

Except Qss doesnt scale for ap champs. In late game you"ll be behind full item vs enemy apc.You gonna do 0 dmg late game.

Because you cant do anything if youre dead, and the leading cause of death in LoL is CC.

So if the enemy team is heavy CC, even if you dont build QSS into anything it can still be worth it just so you can remove the CC that would have killed you.

Once upon a time QSS didnt build into anything, and it was still virtually mandatory to build. The active is just that good in the hands of a skilled player.

as an ap champ having item 3222 and use on yourself is better then getting a item 3140

Stuns, Silences, Knock-ups, Stuns, Suppression, and Polymorph will not let the champion with Mikaels use it as those forms of CC deny the use of abilities.

Blinds, Roots, Snares, Entangles, and Slows will allow the Champion who holds Mikaels to use its active on his/herself or an Ally.

item 3222 and summoner 1 cannot get rid of any kind of Suppression only item 3140 Gangplank Morgana Alistar Olaf TahmKench (W on ally) can get rid of suppression

but usually the suppressions we are worried about has alot of ap damage , so having mr and a active that can heal you might just save you

MR can not save you.

Well, the main question is why QSS exists in the first place and even is allowed to cancle supression, as that item and especially the supression cancle creates uninteresting binary situation where the opposing champ pick forces you to pick a specific item even if it overall might be bullshit on your champ. Those supression ults always have the issue that they are quite opressive, but they have to be that opressive as they get straight usless once your opponent gets QSS. Balanceing around straight hard%%%%ers just is bad for the game.

The second Question is: Why the hell does everyone compare item 3139 toitem 3157 ??? Those two are entierly different items with entierly different purposes. Turning untargetable while also becomeing unable to do anything at all, so self CC is basically the opposite of the CC break that QSS/Mercurial offers.

Which brings us to the question that if QSS is for some reason in this game, then why are ad-champs the only ones that are allowed to get an lategame item out of it?

Hey, I build item 3157 on Khazix all the time :^)

(in normals)

You'd be surprised how good it is on him. It only really works because Kha does a billion damage with Warriors Youmuus and a 3rd AD item so he doesn't really need any more AD.

QSS ends the CC, not the damage. so removing it is questionable as you might insta die as opposed to someone on your team coming over to heal/shield you.

its a consideration, but because it doesn't build into anything its basically just throwing away a lot of gold to sometimes avoid dieing for getting caught out. (when you could just not get caught out in the first place)

I briefly used Zhonyas on Quinn since her Q's AP ratio was actually surprisingly decent (I think it added an extra 100 damage)

It's actually not all that efficient in the later stages of the game.

If you actually buy it against Malz/WW/Skarner, then you are basically buying an item to hard counter one person. What about the other four people on the enemy team? That also doesn't include the fact that Skarner's damage isn't affected by QSS's magic resistance. You lose out on too much damage as an APC to be able to afford QSS, and since there are only a handful of champions that can always use it and still do something afterwards makes it even less efficient.

Zhonya's is good for AP's because it lets them wait for cooldowns or deal damage with persistent AoE spells, but QSS doesn't do that for most AP champions.
