Will Riot end up reworking champions that are powerful solely due to their weapon?
Riot has stated before that they wanted to make every character in league actual champions; not just some guy with a crazy weapon they got somewhere. They specificaly cited
for this, and I believe that was in season 2 or 3.
Do you think Riot should rework
and
due to them being essentially a weapon with no attachment with to the character?
The positives are that their lore would heavily tie in with their gameplay, and in Ezreal's case, he might actually have a dedicated purpose, rather than a kit with no cohesive theme. What about his kit says that he's an explorer, despite that being his 'identity?'
The negatives are losing part of the current champions/gameplay, and alienating the die-hard fans. However, this has been done before for the good of the game, even if the changes were considered negative at the time.
To keep this champion specific,
are the same as
. While they're focused around the weapon they use, its still their ability, not the weapon itself doing everything.
Are all in the same boat as well, with them either being an inventor whose theme ties in with their weapon, or in
's case, whose theme heavily lends itself to its weapon.
This is mostly a talk about
and
, who are essentially their weapon gameplay-wise, while their character is completely unrelated.
