Does being a one trick pony work out in ranked?

I'm contemplating climbing the ranks playing Kha'Zix only. And I notice leaving lobbies can give you penalties. And I don't think I really have the time to deal with the wait timer. I don't exactly know if you get penalties outside of lp loss in ranked lobbies.

being a one trick pony does not mean you dodge if you cannot play your champion and role. lol. I am a mostly one trick Lux who wins most of my games on Lux (70% win rate ish), but I still have other champs I can do ok with and not be a complete burden.

One trick pony means you try to play a single champion as much aspossible but doesn;t mean ddging the rest of teh games. It just means having 70% + win rate with the champion you play the most to averge somewhere around 55 winrate total

There are plenty of one trick ponies out there so I don't see why not. If you're able to play Kha top mid and jungle then you should get one of those roles often enough.

I'd probably prefer mid/jungle, but I actually forgot I could take him as a laner so it probably works out better than I expected.

I'm a one trick pony and I'm just trying to get to gold albeit not very hard.

somehow, some people do it. I have no idea how though. When I see someone with like 15 games in a row as the same champion in the same lane. Im like "how the fuck did nobody complain to him for that lane"

Depends. If you are able to get your pick consistently (as opposed to a high priority pick/ban lane or champ), and you can use your pick in most situations, it should work. I play only Nami in Ranked and it has worked great so far because 1. I'm good at her, 2. Nobody else picks or bans her, 3. it's not hard to get Support, and 4. she works in most any comp.

If you have trouble with any of those it could put a crimp in your plans and reflect negatively in your experience, including dodge penalties.

How do you think Riven mains do it? They reach challenger playing broken Riven and feed when they play everything else.
