can just sit there and spam their abilities without suffering the consequences and everyone that uses manga especially the mana hungry champs like 
are at a huge disadvantage. Also 
is now a unique passive so it's a pain to deal with such mana issues.
Edit: The champions I listed above are just examples of champions that don't use mana and are completely fine in lane. Please stay on topic.

lolipopevelynn3 votesSimple answer is that mana pots + HP pots allowed a champion to stay in the lane practically forever. riot didnt like that, so they removed mana pots and nerfed the shit out of HP pots. they wanted mana champs to be gated by mana, which is the entire purpose of giving a champ mana at all.
basically take 
. if mana pots were still in the game it would basically be as if they were manaless champs. ok not exactly manaless, but a ton of sustain to spam abilities.
