Am I the only one who finds Yorick to be completely blown out of proportion?

Don't get me wrong, I played him on 5.21-5.22 when there was no such thing as late game Yorick and found he fit a decent niche, but I truly do not understand why people insist he is completely toxic, so much so that he is disabled from the rotation. His laning phase is alright, and that is where he shines, but he is nothing extraordinary. If I want lane bully, I will play Pantheon. I have a way easier time bullying Garen into nonexistence with Pantheon than I do Yorick. Yorick is a completely unimpressive champion, when he is picked on either team I have no strong feelings either way. He's just kind of there, doing his own thing.

But he is somehow more of a problem than post rework Fiora, or Zed, Youmuu Cleaver Lucian or Fizz? None of those champs are off the rotation and are infinitely more degenerate than Yorick could ever hope to be. I think Yorick is simply a powercreeped champion, his spotlight is gone and is not what he used to be in todays game anymore. I am not asking for buffs, I just don't understand the perception and meme regarding Yorick. There is a reason people joke that Yorick, who is he, a new champion?

I'll gladly lane against Yorick over any of the current degenerate meta toplaners, even anti meta laners such as Quinn.
