sv increases healing effects by 20%. 20% added to your 30% lifesteal would be another 6%. plus the extra health. plus the mr which reduces the damage return on the thornmail. still think the item is silly?

also, bork is a horrible attempt to counter thornmail. first of all, the lifesteal on the item is only 10%. second, it will not deal a lot of damage to someone who rushed a thornmail, since he wont have a lot of extra health.

You should try to get some mr, since tanks typically won't have (much) magic pen any magic resist will drastically reduce thornmail's damage, (scaling) mr runes would probably help a lot against the new tank meta. As for Mr items you could try mercurial scimitar, maw of Malmortius, Banshee's veil, guardian angel, spirit visage (the extra lifesteal helps).

ways to minimize the enemy's thornmail: -armor pen: last whisper, cleaver -magic resist: hexdrinker, wit's end, spirit visage, etc -and lifesteal OR on-hits that don't interact with lifesteal and therefore don't interact with thornmail: botrk, wit's end, bloodthirster, etc

It sounds like you were missing magic resist.

Had it in ranked today as sion, Nid spear on their sivir, she tries to lasthit me > she dies, I laugh. Feels good. I was fullbuild and she wasn't fed though.

i had a game with an ad heavy enemy team. and one after another, a graves, a gp, and a khazix literally killed themselves on my thornmail. the gp even killed himself with a q.

i was snowballing pretty hard hat that point, and rushed the item, an infinity edge, and a ghostblade early. they didnt have any armor pen at this point and just were building straight ad, crit and attack speed.

it was pretty goddamn statisfying.
