I don't know why this is. I don't even think my MMR is that low. I just won a solo/duo game, me as a Plat 4 player, where all 9 other players were also Plat 4 and I only got 14 LP. I lost a game recently and lost 22 LP against pretty much equal opponents.

I don't know why Riot gives me so few LP. I had something like a 54% winrate in season 8 on about 250 games. Sure, I had a bad losing streak towards the end, but that doesn't justify my LP gains / losses. Playing in preseason, I'm 4-1 wins / losses on solo/duo and I can't seem to improve MMR-wise.

Anyone else experiencing this? Is this a product of the new ranks and me being promoted from P5 to P4?

It's almost like they want you to play more games to get back to your starting MMR. It's almost like it's a carefully designed system that forces you to play constantly just to achieve what you already achieved. If i didn't know better, I would say they're doing it on purpose to make money, but that would just be crazy...

Happened to me after I got to g5. Got demoted and it still does that. It balanced out after I demoted to s3, then I got to s2 and its 15-17 for a win and 17 to 20 for a loss.

probably a glitch or something, you should be gaining more than losing more.

You get less LP if you don't belong in that division and more LP if you don't belong in it but a higher rank.

If you were plat 5 and went on a losing streak, your MMR probably dropped to high gold.

Then you got bumped up to plat 4 at preseason, which would be the root cause of low LP gains?

I remember when you would get 3-4 lp for wins and lose 20-22 for losses. those were the days friend. hell i even had one game where we won and i got 0 lp.

Yea, same thing happened to me. I was Silver 5 gaining about 17 LP per win and losing about 20 LP per loss. After the new tiers were added, I was dropped to B1 and starting gaining like 10 LP per win and losing 23 per loss.
