@Riot : Does CS matter in ARAM? (Is it built into the score of "how well players do")

I just want to know, cuz I've been playing to usually let my teammates have the CS (and only take it if necessary for me to wave clear). But if it is, then I'm taking all those cute minions home with me XD

Even when I have excellent, excellent games, I still don't get S's. Sometimes when I have a "not bad" but really nothing impressive game I get an S. It's getting a little frustrating. I'm trying to figure out if I should change my playstyle to be less (to win) and (get those cute minions). The mystery of an S and whether I need to steal those cute minions is cutting into my ordinary "just have fun" mentality and introducing "endless frustration"

I feel like, if I at least can find out about the minions, I can forget about this and keep playing haha

When I said "excellent games'- I've had a game as Rek'sai where I had 0 deaths, lots of kills & I didnt' get an S. (That's fair, I figure, maybe it's based on participation. But if that's so, it's definitely not based on KDA. So what..... could it be based on?! ) What constitutes a "better" score, if it's not based on KDA?
This game, I went 16/5/20, participated in about all battles... no S. I know I'm being compared. But... but compared by how? compared by what? What does the average Rumble player get? 43/0/20 or something? How is that even possible unless some poor person on the other team d/ced?! I figured maybe it's the damage, but I also was highest damage.... Was it damage taken? Was the system punishing me for playing like a mage rather than a tank even though it made sense to be playing as a mage with my team composition?

Yes, I know it's by "average player", but by what measure does the "average player" do better? The KDA score with Rek'sai proves that it's certainly not KDA.

Anyway, even if these questions are un-answerable, I would like to confirm whether or not minion kills factor into the ARAM games at least, so I can direct my frustration elsewhere xD. Although even when I do well and get support items as my first item it doesn't seem to matter? But I usually don't do so well.

And to my fellow players- what's your data on ARAM games? What have you noticed about getting S's/ not getting S's?

I know that I got an S- as Sona once, but I believe that was on Poro King, and it seemed that healing done factored a lot of it- I barely had any minions. But most likely the minions are adjusted for Sona...? This is tough for me on other supports because I can't seem to spam heals as well (but maybe that's a skill thing)? Some other ones don't have heals either.

Thank you

"Gold earned" seems to be a significant factor in post-match ratings. Since minions grant gold, CS does seem to play an annoyingly large part in whether or not you get an S. Especially with the limited minions in ARAM.

Yes.

Ratings are stupidly inconsistent anyway, ARAM just exacerbates the problem. But yes, as to the OP, I'd assume CS has a significant part to do with it.
